Hi Elrvld, Nice to meet you! In your case is caused by the material that you contact, but in my case I just wear a normal T-shirt and most of the time I have got the electrostatic in my body. I tried many way by touching a metal or touching the floor but still couldn't get rid of the static. I do not know whether this will affect my health or not.

We also experience that at the office. We here the sound of the spark and we feel like we were pinch. I am still wondering what is the cause, mostly this static happen in an airconditioned room right?

That happen many time to me, sometime I can only felt that it is there, but when it is stronger, I can hear the sound of spark. But so far I still have not able to see any real spark :) I believe this is related to the environment, may be the dry air mostly in a air conditioned room. And may be it caused by the handphone...

yspmyl yes I have had that happen to me too from just walking across a carpeted floor. the air is too dry and the friction from our feet causes the electric shock when you go to turn on a light. Its the friction of our feet rubbing the carpet that causes a minor electric charge. more fun.
