I am fed up just lately doing the shopping online as when it was delivered the last 3 times some of the things that i needed were not in the shopping aswell as other things that were not in stock.Well tonight i went to get the food shopping with my mum and her partner as i usually fill two trolleys up and even though it came to over £200 as i have a large family and all the pain of walking around the shop was worth it as i know that i have everything i need aswell as do not have any missing items.

I went myself and spent about $350 last night and still forgot the granola bars. I guess I should make a list. lol I haven't shopped online, but maybe I'll try it. Hopefully I won't have anything to complain about except for the delivery fee! :D

i never tried online shopping as i love to shopped personally to buy things in supermarket.i enjoy it as i can see all those types of foods and things by my own eyes and choose what i want to buy.i can check other info too like labels, expired date and etc.its better to shop for foods by your ownself rather than doing it online as it will satisfied you more;)

I have shopped on EBay for specific items but I have never done the grocery shopping online. I’ve had a look and it appears to me that the prices are higher on certain items and there is the delivery fee as well. I am on a tight budget and always chasing specials etc so I can’t afford to pay much more than I have to. I don’t trust that everything will be there either…

sometimes shopping on line can be convinient for me but i also like to shopping in supermarket...shopping on line in the most of time the the goods i bought are in a good condition and the same as what were described by seller...but on some other things such as funiture, computer etc. i like to buy them offline, i mean in shopping mall, cuz i can check and know all about it in person...and for these things i can not trust in online store...

I usually only do my grocery shopping online if my car is off the road, as I live miles away from any shops and we only have a 2 hourly bus service. Before I moved ironically and lived in town I did use the service a lot, in that time I did have a few bags missing but on one occasion I nearly ended up with someone's complete chilled shop. I happened to notice in a tray with five very full bags a 6 pint bottle of milk that I knew I hadn't ordered, on checking the delivery man was giving me full tray of someone else's shopping - naturally I told him and have it him back, but not everyone would have been so honest and that poor person would have lost al their shopping!! I know that you get refunded but it is still not very good. Last week Sainsbury's had a problem with their van and when they took my daughter's shopping told her that all the chilled and frozen goods could not be delivered and that she would be refunded. This meant that she had to go into town with her four kids (she had ordered online as it was the school holidays)on top of that she had to spend another £40 while she waited for her refund - not everyone has that money spare!!

I send my assistant to do my shopping, but I make the list and decide what's on it. I myself find, like you, that it's kind of neat to walk among the selves. I also enjoy the fact that you can now find books, gifts, and cards in grocery stores. That's so cool to me!

Your cost of living certainly must be low. There is only me here and I can 3/4 fill a trolley and it will cost me over $200. That's a big once a month shop but I will still do at least one other shop for around $90. I can sympathise with things being missing too. Nearly every time I shop I forget something, even when it's on the list. It is usually an item that is one of the reasons I'm going shopping. My closest bigger supermarket is over an hour away and with fuel so expensive I try not to go shopping unless I have to.

I normally forget something when I go to the grocery store even if I do have a list with me. I guess I just get side tracked with the kids asking for junk they don't need and forget. Going grocery shopping without the kids I still sometimes forget things though.

If given a choice, i will not be doing any online shopping for i know this kind of problem will definitely surface.. haha =D PLus, with missing items in the delivery, it's gonna be troublesome to verify with the supermart, and with all those troubles, i might as well be do shopping in real.. FOr at least, if i forget anything, it's my own fault, rather than pusing the responsibilities everywhere.. haha

i haven't tried shopping online coz its just not applicable for me. when shopping for our food and other supplies i usually do it myself and really enjoy it. walking around the supermarket gives me some enjoyment and i do like looking around and checking for any new items. aside from we were able to buy what we really wanted and make sure that we got the complete items that we needed, its also good for our health since its still walking. hehe sometimes even if i do it myself i still forget to buy some items and so to avoid this, what i do is to have a list of the things that i will be buying.

Hi Jugsjugs, I prefer to go to the shopping mall than shop online. The only things I buy online are airplane tickets when my family travels. But for food, clothes, kids stuff, etc, I do buy them personally. Specially the food, I make sure I get to see it and compare brands before putting them in my shopping cart.

Hi my friend...... I feel that way every time wanna make something my favorite supermarket usually don't have one material or the brand I usually use. I this happen I has to go to other place with my first grocery. We usually only do a big shopping at the beginning of the month to buy grocery that we need. But we also go to traditional market every three day to buy fresh vegetable, meat, chicken and fish also fruit.

I prefer to shop in person. That way I can look at the specials and make my meal plan while in the grocery store. I am on a budget and my meals revolve around what is reasonably priced that week. That includes buying the veggies, meat cheese and joghurt that are on special. I don't buy processed foods, frozen prepared dinners or most canned vegetables except tomato sauce and all sorts of beans. So it is the fresh foods that are often expensive, therefore I buy those fresh foods that are featured and prepare them instead of something else. For example if cauliflower is on special and green beans are expensive, well I will prepare cauliflower. If iceberg lettuce is expensive but romain or spinach is cheap I will prepare a salad with the cheaper items. I am diabetic and have to keep my blood pressure and cholestorol in check as well as my blood sugar and weight. So eating healthy foods is essential, but not cheap and requires careful planning. In order to do this planning I need to see what is available. However, if I was really sick or disabled, online shopping would be a solution to retain my independence.

I've never done food shopping online as the first time I tried you needed to have a credit card and I only have a debit card. Now I live right next door to a supermarket so I don't need to. Sounds like it's no good anyway if they leave things out, better to just go yourself.

It happens, and you're right it is frustrating. Even more so when trying to run a business. Happens once in a while with my AVON orders.

Couldn't agree with you more. I prefer real, physical shopping rather than online. Though it's a hassle sometimes - the queues and traffic congestion - it's still worth it. I get to see, feel and touch; furthermore, I could get almost everything I need.

I don't do shopping online for food. I want to walk around and test/poke/see/smell/whatever with the product before purchasing it. Shopping online defy that. Besides, I only shop online for items that I can't find in the store. We also spend a lot on food (we do eat a lot for a family of 4 members~~~) I also tend to buy some in bulk, especially when there's sale/discount on that item.
