From yahoo.com news, a 16 years old girl sail away on her own to go around the Globe. It was just like a movie, but somehow she was mysteriously disappear in the middle of the ocean. The news say she brought with her a beacon to keep on communication or some sort, now they totally lost contact with her. I just wonder what procedure they are going adopt to retrieve this missing girl? Also, I wonder whether she bring with her enough food or money to keep herself supplied? She is one heck of brave girl. But giving her age, she will missing a lot of days of her school, won't she?

There was a lot of controversy about the Australian 16 years old who wanted to sail around the world. Her parents were ok with it (as her father also sails a lot) however the government was not ok with it. They had to go to court and get approval for her to be able to take this journey. She did however succeed and sailed around the world in 7 months. I'm sure she's busy catching up on schooling now. This new girl, from California who is also 16 was probably inspired by the other girl's story! However she got lost in a storm recently... They'll try to find her the same way they try to find anyone else lost at sea. Planes, ships, and radios. They'll send out a search party around where she was last heard from and spread out around the areas the storm may have taken her. I'm sure she packed a lot of food and supplies if she planned on sailing around the world. So I wouldn't be too worried about her going hungry just yet. She might be found soon. Hopefully her boat wasn't wrecked too badly in the storm. I hope she's alive out there.

Hmm the stories I'm reading on this are confusing. I'm trying to figure out if they are actually the same girl, Abby Sunderland. I think I remember headlines about her going to court to get the right to even make this trip... I'm not sure. Either way, I hope the girl is found soon!

Oh, what a brave girl! Though I'm a boy and older than her, I don't dare to sail away on my own. The oceans are too dangerous, and full of unpredictable incidents. But, since all the earth surface has been explored, why so much high on sailing like Columbus? God bless the brave girl!
