Oh, my, yes! I was queen of the bee stings when I was young. I was always running around with no shoes on and always seemed to find all the bees in the grass, or they found me. Most of the stings I got were on my feet. I was stung by a hornet on my toe once. My foot swelled up and my entire leg was on fire, right up to my hip. My mother insisted that I go to the hospital because she thought I was having an allergic reaction. I didn't want to go, mainly because we were moving the next day and I had too much to do. But, she won. The doctor asked me what I was doing there. I answered, "Wishing I was home." Anyway, I didn't have an allergic reaction, just a normal one to a large dose of venom. The last sting I got was on my hand, right between two fingers. I was taking laundry down from the clothesline and didn't notice that there was a yellow jacket sitting on a clothespin. It stung me and I cried, "Ouch!" My mother, who was always overreacting, asked me what happened. I told her a bee just stung me as I was looking at the sting, very interesting. She got hysterical and tried to rush me in the house to put a baking soda paste on the sting. (That takes the burning and stinging out.) I was more interested in looking at the sting because the bee's stinger was still in my finger and it was pulsating. I had never seen that before. I hope I never get another one because they aren't fun, even if they aren't the end of the world. I'm just glad I'm not allergic to bee stings! I am allergic to spider bites. I hope your behind feels better soon! Try a baking soda and water paste or make an oatmeal paste and put it on the sting. They should both help.

Yes, I have and the pain is really bad. My folks tells me to rub any flowers on the area when the bees sting you. It helps. I have been doing that each time a bee stung me in the past and I noticed the swelling actually goes down! try it, You may be surprised these home-cures actually work!

I was stung by a wasp many years ago. It was on the neck and it was horribly painful and got swollen. Wasps are very dangerous bugs, so are bees once bitten by them. A couple of years ago, there was a big hive on the ceiling outside my gate with so hundreds of wasps flying in and out of it. I was so scared and had to get it off there and I managed eventually by using my big broom.

I have over 400 colonies of honeybees, and each colony has up to 80,000 bees. When I'm working with the bees I wear a bee suit, veiled hat, and long gloves. Occasionally I will work all day in the beeyards and only get one or two stings. The stings hurt but don't swell up, and are entirely gone 10 minutes later. This is my full time job, and I love it. I talk to the bees and they never fail to buzz me back. Sometimes I don't bother to scrape the stinger out after a sting. I always feel so sorry for the bee after she stings me, because I know she will die

I was allergic to bees when I was younger but I found out a couple of years ago that I have grown out of my allergy. I was stung by a nasty little yellow jacket and didn't swell up like a blimp

I haven't been stung by a bee in many years. I am allergic to bees and try to stay away from them as much as possible. When I have gotten stung in the past, I swell up really bad for a couple weeks.

Hi annjilena. Yes, I've gotten stung before. It happen last year (or was it the year before? LOL) I had gone outside to water the yard. Well, there were a bunch of honey bees buzzing around all of the faucets. At one particular faucet there is a post next to it. I put my hand on it without looking. All of a sudden I felt a wiggle under my hand. By the time I realized it was a bee, it was too late, he stung me...right on one of my fingers. It was the first time I had gotten stung and it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would, at least not immediately anyway. I made sure to yank the stinger out, though I think I did more harm than good, because the next morning my finger that had gotten stung was swollen and hard. And it itched too! But at least it didn't last too long, a few days at the most, I think. Then my finger was back to normal pretty much after that. Speaking of getting stung, my husband got stung only yesterday. The bee stung him right on the backside of his right leg. It swelled up so fast. I think he got an allergic reaction from it because it made him feel all funny and weird. I'll have to check on him when he wakes up to make sure he is doing okay. Poor guy, he just broke his toe a few weeks ago and now this. Well, hopefully it won't get any worse... Happy mylotting!

I sure have and they sure hurt. My son is alergic to bees and he has to have doctor's attention when he gits bit. Once when he went to a private school, they called me and said they took him to the hospital. When i asked which one (as three are within 30 miles) they were so excited that they did not know. He got a shot and was fine by the time i got there.

I have been stinged by a bee when i was a child, and I've forgotten whether it's painful or not,for it was so long ago.But the fact is you get a sting and the bee will lose his life,he will die several hours after the sting. There is also a saying that the sting can sometimes cure certain diseases,so don't hate them annjilena, comparing their losing life, our pain is not too much to stand.

Several times. My skin is sensitive to bees and other insects stinging. it's aching with itching, bloat a big bump. The feeling is really terrible. With soaps or soda ash smear on, it will feel better.

Bee stinging is applied in china to treat certain bone illnesses as a kind of bee therapy.
