I have been on freelancer this week. I just found the site. I have made three different bids and just got one accepted. Now what happens? I emailed the employer to say thanks and that I was "eagerly awaiting" working on their articles... now what happens? Freelancer charged me 5 bucks.. how do they get that? How do I get paid from the owner of the job? Any freelancers out there?

Did you take any exams because you have to pay for them. You're lucky i posted like 10 bids and nothing so far, hope i get a job soon.

They charged me 5 dollars each on two different bids. One never even sent an assignment after accepting the bid. The other I am working with still. I am starting think it is a scam site. I was going to go in and pay the 10 bucks, but I was afraid to give any personal information on the site. I haven't taken any exams yet. Probably won't...

Haven't got a bid jet but i don't think they're scam it's just that you have to be lucky and not afraid to pay some change if necessary. Does seem strange you had to pay tho.

Freelancer recomend you get paid through them (They take a nice fee btw) So i always run my payments to my PayPal and pay the GAF fees from my PayPal account instead. But that is different from person to person how they want to deal with the payments.

I'm a little nervous about this first job. I am sure I'll be okay when I get going. I'm rewriting a bunch of articles about pregnancy! sheesh! Anyway... they said they would pay me through paypal. I already owe the 5 dollar fee to freelancer. It says I only have 27 of the 30 allowed bids.. what does that mean?

Rewriting is a nice and easy job :) I love those too, especially if they provide you with the content to be rewritten. As a standard member on Freelancer are you allowed to bid on 30 projects a month, this amount increase with one extra project per month you are a member. Then your bids get refilled when it is a month ago you made the bid or if another gets the job than you.
