there is amazing new game that i just found out about: league of legends. its sort of an upgrade to one of the best games; DOTA and DOTA allstars. it has new features, alot new heros and way more to come... and best of all its free at www.leagueoflegends.com if this is a guide line violation (posting websites in the discussions) i don't know because i didn't read them but i am not self promoting myself i am just giving you all an awsome new game to play. new characters come out or so i am told every few weeks. my name on league of legends is wokiman (no caps) if you want to add me. League of Legends isnt really like dota at all. The game is far more dumbed down and made extra simple for people who simply arent good at dota

I have to disagree with that. League of Legends is different from dotA, but it is not a "dumbed down" version. There are new strategies involved in league that you would not find in dotA, such as the bush system, summoner spells, runes, etc. It is true that denying has been removed in LoL, but all that means is that you can focus more on the actual laning and last-hitting minions. Saying that LoL was made "extra simple" for people who aren't good at DotA is an unfair classification. Hate the player, not the game.

this has been around for a time already. there are gameplay modifications which are fun and makes the game distinctive on its own. however, HoN (Heroes of Newerth) remains the undisputed forerunner to succeeding Dota's throne. but comparison aside, LoL is a good game and is worth a look.

I've been playing LoL for around 8 months and i think it's awesome. I never played Dota so I can't compare the two but from what i hear it is similar. The only problem with the game is that frequently you get people on your team who dont try or want to make you lose which gets annoying or you can have disconnects making it an unfair match. Other than that it is very fun to play.
