I suffer from Chronic Daily Headaches and no over the counter pain medication helps at all. I'm in the process of seeing a neurologist, and have tried a few medications so far, but none that work :( So does anyone have any home remedies to suggest? I'll be willing to try almost anything!

I suffer bad headaches and migrains most days also i find that if you lye down with a warmish cloth over your eyes it works usually but if your in no position to do this i usually grin and bare it and try my hardest to think of something else till it passes. Also im glad your getting it checked out i had an aquatence who had similar problems everyday and it turned out that it was a blood clot in his brain.

Thanks :) I've had scans so there's nothing in my brain, which is good and bad, at least I would have had an explanation! My headaches don't pass though they just vary in intensity. I will try the warm cloth when I'm at home though

oh yeh i forgot it can also have a lot to do with your diet as i was told by my doctor to try different diets and i found if i had a lot of cheese or dairy then i would get a migrain i also found that if i didnt have a proper breakfast in the morning (my usuall was just a cup of coffee) then i would start getting headaches around about lunchtime. I hope some of this helps as i do know what it feels like :)

I had the same problem too. I'm not sure if you can cure it at the same way or not but when I used to have headache before, I was adviced by a friend to see the eyes specialist. Eventually the reason was because of my eyes sight. One of them short sighted and I never realized.

I think the first thing you need is a proper diagnosis of the problem juicemilk. Until then, suggest you lie down in a quiet darkened room and see if that helps. Good luck when you see the neurologist. :)

water also cures headaches. try taking water in a systematic way, i.e., a glass an hour. it usually gives results in two - three days. did u watch when r u getting headache ? i mean the time, when u do something ... like that. dont be hungry for longer hours keep eating freaquently in small quantities. this may help. avoid taking cold water.

thanks, but it has nothing to do with how much water I drink :) There is no time that I get a headache, I just always have one. Thanks for the tips though!

i feel your pain. i actually posted a discussion similar to this a few days ago..but in regards to migraines. i get headaches almost every day and migraines a couple times a month. ive actually had a headache every day for the past 15 days...and 2 of those were migraines. but i really dont know what to tell you. i take excedrin migraine even for non-migraine headaches because nothing else seems to work for me. usually i only take 1 but then take another later on if it still doesnt go away. for a migraine, i take 2 (which i usually end up throwing up). you know, one thing that does help is massaging your temples (with a lot of pressure)..or better yet, having someone massage your temples. it depends where the headache is, but sometimes that works really well!

I am not saying that this applies to you or anything but I am hoping this may be helpful to somebody who comes across this discussion. I always had frequent headaches until I got glasses. Now, if I go most of the day without them I get a headache. If I haven't been wearing them and start wearing them I also get a headache. These headaches (migrians) can last a week. This means I have to choose on or off. Hope this helps somebody :)

How much water do you intake everyday, I too get headaches occassionlly, usually I can trace it back to actually being dehydrated. Try making sure you get regular doses of water.

i guess the primary thing is for you to pursue on knowing what's causing the headache. until then, you can't get rid of it. maybe you have to seek another doctor's opinion. i use to have headaches when my eyes are so strained or when i lack sleep so i know i just have to avoid using them, stay away from tv or pc for awhile, lie down and rest my eyes.

How much water do you drink each day? Sometimes headaches are the result of not drinking enough. If you don't drink very much try upping your fluid intake and see if that helps at all. It does for me sometimes.

Hi, I noticed you live in Australia. If you go to Woolworths they sell a natural remedy in the medicine isle called Migrastick. It contains essential oils and you dab it on your temples. I know a chronic migraine sufferer who uses it when she feels a migraine coming on and she doesn't get as many migraines now.

I haven't tried this myself, I can't stand the taste of gatorade, but I was told by several people that if you drink 2 8oz glasses of any flavor gatorade that it will cure headaches.
