I have noticed that if we pay attention, we do not have to do a lot to make other people happy, it is the little details that make them happy, when one remembers a friend's birthday, find the her favorite chocolates, remember their favorite author, games or even songs, we are living in a moment when economy is bad so even a small detail can be a big thing someday. So what are your favorite ways to make a friend happy? Or other people happy?

I only have to worry about making one person happy. Used to be two, but one of them seems unhappy no matter what you do, there is little hope for her I agree that it is the little things, sometimes the smallest of details that make others happy. For me it is usually nothing more than communication with that special someone. She seems happiest when we are talking, be it face to face or even over the computer And, of course, saying I love you baby doesn't hurt any either

Hey Shelly! I try to do my best to make people happy in whatever way I can even if it is just a phone call to try and cheer someone up who I know might be feeling a little down or upset about something! Yesterday was my next door neighboor/girlfriend's birthday and her Mom and Son live about an hour away and weren't able to spend the day with her because they both work. So, I didn't want her to spend the day alone so I spent the day with her! We didn't really do anything because of the money situation, but I did buy her Chinese Food for lunch and we just hung out together outside for awhile and then came back to my apartment. At least she didn't have to be alone and that made her happy. Sometimes it's just the little things that you do for people that mean the most!

That is so sweet! I feel that it is a big detail, if someone bought me Chinesse food on my birthday and made sure I was not alone I would be like forever. you are a very good friend and don't you forget it, one day there will be something better for you than chinesse food for your birthday and of course lots of love. I love details like a book, chocolates and a cup of coffee but if you want to buy chinesse I am not going to say no lol I hope you are having a great night

What I like to do is make strangers happy. I try to get a smile out of every one I deal with in person and some extra conversation from phone contacts. I seem to get these reactions best when I pay attention to the person and am able to comment on something personal. Once I do this they know I am seeing them as individual and not just some talking machine that can answer me.

That makes sense to me, it is nice to receive a smile and give other people at work an extra special touch and you are right, we like to be treated as persons and not numbers.

When I am sad, I make myself happy by eating something I really like. I dont know if its effective with other people but that's the main thing that I am going to do to make them happy when they are sad, make them eat something they really like. Its like a comfort food for them of some sort.
