Crazy buyers

I've sold a few things on ebay, but I noticed because I'm not a big seller, I bought more, not all of my items sold in the past. Now, I am selling more and wish my items wouldn't sell. Ebay has some crazy buyers. One guy bid on my item twice and then told me he refused to pay full price. Then, when I said, "fine don't pay. I'll report you" he told me he was going to pay it all. I say when? He says in 4 days, because that's the maxium he had to make me wait and he would. Another crazy buyer wanted to meet me in person and pay me in cash. I was all no. This buyer also paid me with an echeck and wanted me to send the item before it cleared. I'll tell you a lot of buyers are nuts. Any crazy story about selling on ebay?

I collect Sindy dolls and have heard some weird stories about people selling Sindy items. They often arrive in bad condition then the seller gets verbally agressive if the person complains apparently. I've not sold much on eBay and haven't had any bad expieriences personally, all my buyer paid when they were supposed to and were polite in any communications I had with them.

Hi nancy rowina: exceptying my experience buying an ipod from a seller in Hong Konmg that never arrives and this person never give me a good explanation about the subject I think that everything is ok. In general seller and buyers on ebay are serious persons that really want to finish their transactions well. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO

Hi smartie: I'm a buyer on ebay but I can tell you that I'm not crazy, well who knows, at least I consider myself a normal person. Lol. XD. The craziest thing that has happened to me was my first item I bought on ebay. It was an ipod. I buy it to a seller from Hong Kong and can you imagine that the item never arrive? I talk to this person but he always tell me that he was working on it and that I only have to wait a little more because it was a problem with the shipping company. I feel really disappointed but I never report it because I was new on the site and I didn't know that this really works. Thanks for asking us this question. Have a nice day. ALVARO

There are lots of people on ebay who are trying to scam you so just remember to always send your items in a way that you can prove that you have sent them and don't send anything until the payment has actually been confirmed by paypal/ebay as being received AND cleared. My mother-in-law once sold a phone, sent it to someone in Nigeria after they sent an e-mail that looked like it was from Paypal and then they never actually went to collect it so eventually she received the item back even though she thought she had lost it to a scam so she was very lucky really and then sold the item to a friend for more than she had paid for it! Very lucky :)

Paypal is not available in Nigeria, any sellers should take a note. How would they sent you payment is the payment processor is not available? Your mother in law is very lucky. Maybe the person knew that the item has arrived, but he didn't want to pay for duty/custom fees that's why the item was never collected. She's very lucky that the phone wasn't end up being stolen.

Aww..those are nasty buyers. I have just started to sell on ebay and have listed a few items. But, I haven't got any bidder . I got a friend whose item didn't got paid and the buyer filed a dispute of "unreceived item" . Fortunately he won the case by giving ebay the screeshot of the transaction. Also, I write in my description that I will ship the item after the payment is cleared. Just to be safe due to ebay unfair policy. By the way have you received the payment of the four days guy?

Sorry this is so late. I've been so busy. Yes, I finally received payment on the fifth day. Even then, he was very sneaky and a problem. He tried to make me give him a 20 dollar discount. I told him, "You bid this much. There was no offer or buy it now, you choose to spend this much. If you don't have the money to pay it all, I will file a claim against you". A few hours later, he paid me the full amount.

I have never sold anything on Ebay (I only buy stuff there haha!) but I can imagine that some people are weirdos. There is a forum on Ebay I think where you can read the weirdest stories regarding stuff like this, you should check it out for laughs!

I haven't come across anyone like that on ebay thusfar. I hope I don't. Sounds like you've had a rough time with some people. I haven't sold on ebay in quite a while so things may have changed since then. I will be starting again soon since we're moving and need to make room for new things. I wish you better luck in selling to people that are willing to pay the price they bid through paypal and not expect it shipped before their payment has cleared.

Hi smartie! I've never bought from or sold anything on ebay. I'm seriously thinking though. This post is a good reminder on how I should manage things on ebay. I'm very grateful and I thank you so much for this wonderful post.

I am not a seller but I always thought that selling online is kind of dangerous because it's easy to promise that they will pay in exact time and it is much hard selling on ebay..because they will bid and you that they will really buy but won't really buy..I suggest you sell stuff in multiply and set your own rules so there will not be crazy buyers again
