Should the vuvuzelas be banned? why? I think they are just too noisy.

I think they are definitely noisy. But each country gives the game of football it's own flavor like the Mexican Wave, the Samba Dance etc. so I guess it is Vuvuzela from South Africa. I do not think they should be banned, though FIFA can ask the makers to reduce the decibel levels of the instrument. Cheers! Ram

They have different sizes, the smaller ones are softer on the ears. David Villa in an interview after the Confederations Cup said he liked the idea of the Vuvuzela even though it took time to get used to as it adds passion to the field. Jamie Carragher has stated his children have asked for some when he returns. What I dislike is when someone blows the vuvuzela in your ear, thats just not polite.

And with the African teams now nearing the exit, the Vuvuzela sound is slowly beginning to go down!! There was a near hush yesterday everytime South Africa conceded!! Cheers! Ram

They should definitely be banned. They are like buzzing bees. They prevent communication and can be a damage to the ears especially for thise in the stadium. Besides they are annoying to hear when watching from home on tv. They may even distract and hinder the players.

No and the thought of banning them is just so selfish! What right does anyone have to come to South Africa and tell the locals what to do and how to celebrate? Its part of the local football scene and culture. My husband played his club soccer there and let me tell you on the field that sound ignites a passion. What would you rather here some English fans screaming some absurd song with foul language?
