Do you know everybody on your friend list?

I admit that I do not know everyone on my friend list. Some of them are friends of friend that I accept as a friend to help them with farmville. Some of them I met on other social networking sites like Cafemom. I recently found out that one of the friends that I had on my list that I thought I may know though church since we have mutual friends, that no one actually knew her and assumed that they did through church. That by itself is not a bad thing except for the fact that she was looking for people to join in activies that are immoral to those in my faith. It was really crazy though!

Yeah... I do! I know everybody on my friend list. If I don't know them, I will never confirm them as my friend. You know, in my country, there are many fake profiles. So, I decided to ignore all of the people that I don't know. Hehehe... Happy MyLotting!

Hi Andryan, THat's a good way to prevent any future problem with your account. I am so keen too checking on the background of any friends request. i make sure that i really know the person. i too asked my friends who suggested new friends for me to be safe before accepting them.

Hi Xasasa, I know majority of my friends in facebook. Only a few are suggested friends from my close friends and relatives that i accept but don't know yet. the fb has all the avenue to start establishing an interaction with those whom i don't know yet and befriends with them later. it's safe as they are suggested friends from closed friends. so no worries! i am so careful i accepting friends in facebook.

More or less. I've got some friends because of farmville too, but I know their mother so I feel quite safe about them :-) I have a few friends that have added me because I at some point have taken a picture of them at some sporting event, and then they think they know me. I often plan I should have a spring/summer cleaning and set the facebook friends I don't really know at limited access, especially as I have 25 pending friends requests from the same kind of people.

That is a very good idea to limit access to those that I do not know. Thank you!

You can customize your settings quite a lot, and if you have lots of of albums and set them so that not everyone can see them you can actually complain if you find them somewhere else. There's been some cases where the media has used picture from facebook albums that were open to the public, and when they can argue that it's public interest/news/etc they have won the right most of the time. If you're albums and the rest of the stuff isn't open to everyone they can't.

Some people on my friend's list are not really my friends of course some of them are my relatives, classmates, schoolmates or even batchmates. Then some of them are just my online buddies that I've known them in some forums. But if the person is totally stranger at all then I don't really add them at all since I could really think that some of them are just adding me for no reason at all or they just want to increase their friend list.

I have online buddies on my friend list but I consider that I "know" them because we have been online buddies for over 2 yrs.

Funny thing is i actually know everyone my list. My friends list is kinda massive I have 859. Most of them I went to high school with, family members or college friends. I usually don't accept request from people I don't know or wouldn't really speak to. It's always nice to catch up to long lost friends.

Welcome to Mylot! Many of my friends on mylot I do not know. They help me to get earnings. I sent you a friend request so that I can help you on mylot. Although I am still learning a little bit. I was mainly asking about facebook friends though.

No, I don't. I do know almost all of them though, other than a couple of people. With one of the 2 I did happen to see that he went to the same school as I did and around the same time frame too. As for the other person, I noticed that he is mutual friends with some of my other friends so I just accepted his friends request without giving it too much thought. Probably not a smart move on my part, but I know one of my friends on there is pretty particular as to who they add and as this person was on their list I figured that this guy has to be a classmate from somewhere. Now if I could only figure out where! LOL Happy mylotting!

That is what happened with the girl. I thought that I may have known her from church but I wasn't sure so I added her.

That was what I was doing. Now I'll probably check the person out that I accepted to see if I want to be associated with them.

no. I dont know all my friends in my list. I am from India and i have a lot of friends in other countries whom i have never seen. But i have added them as i have found them interesting. Most of them share common interest with me. Many share same ideas and views. So i added them. I am also a big net-worker. So i keep adding people with common interest to grow my network.

I bet you learn a lot from those friends in different countries. Networking helps by adding those you do not know.

About 2 months ago, I've deleted my facebook account for private reasons. But that doesn't matter. At first I wanted to be friend only with people who I know. But that changed when I had wished to have 666 friends, so I started adding everyone, just to reach that number, and make my profile funny and special.

Well, yes I know all the people in my friends list. Most of my friends there are my college buddies. The rest are people from high school and my work place. I even found my childhood friend whom I haven't seen for more than a decade.

All my friends on facebook are familiar. We've met somewhere, or they were former classmates. none of them are total strangers to me.

Honestly, i do not know everybody on my friends list. Although I'm not directly acquainted to that person, I do accept them if we have a common friend. I'm also aware that nowadays we have to be very careful in everything that we post in our profiles. Addresses, contact numbers and even our full name should be kept private & concealed so as to keep ourselves safe from people who have bad intentions.

That is what I was doing also. I do not have my phone number or address on my profile so I try to be a little bit safe.

When I was still using Friendster, I used to have a lot of people on my friends list who I don't really know at all. When I switched to facebook and had my friendster deactivated I really made it a point to add only those whom I know and reject those that I don't. I just realized that it's a matter of protecting my privacy and avoid exposing much about me to people who don't know me at all.

That is a good point. Usually I do change my status too much so I am not too concerned about people that I do not know seeing it.

I think there are one or two people on my friend list who I don't know. They are actually my sister's friends and they decided to add me. I didn't see a reason to reject it so I didn't. Otherwise, I personally know all the other people on my list. A lot of them are childhood friends who I haven't seen in ages. We live too far apart so the only way to communicate is through these types of sites. I try not to add or accept complete strangers because I don't want to clutter my list. Learned my lesson from myspace.

That is what started me adding strangers to my list. I began to add those that were friends with my sister first.

Yep, I know everyone on my Facebook friends list. Well, that is, with the exception of 2 people. One was another mom who had a several similar interests as I did - and she was head of one of the Facebook groups. We comment to each other once and a while - very cool lady. Another is someone who has a similar interest as well - and I don't know why I added her . . . but I decided she was the last one I'd add like that. All the rest are people I've known in person at some point in my life - friends, family, and sometimes acquaintances though I've actually gotten to know them better. I have too much private stuff posted up - so I don't want to add any strangers.

I don't think I know everybody on my friend list in facebook. Some of them are friends of my friend and some others are strangers. I mean they can be friends that I add from facebook search or friends from friend requests.

I do not accept friend requests at all (due to my privacy settings). They accept my friend requests. And they are only people whom I know personally and could very easily meet up with them in person.

I couldn't have that privacy setting. I have friends all over the world that I would like them to be able to find me if they want to. I love reconnecting with old friends.
