This is true! I wish I could lose weight and really should lose some! I am in denial because if I give up alot of my foods I eat I am losing a friend and alot of comfort! Food is my best friend! It doesn't critize me! It loves me! It comforts me! Espacially when I am stressed out! I wish I could do hypnosis but can't afford it right now! I wish I didn't have to work on this so hard! I wish it was easy! I have to much to worry about and my wieght problem always gets put on the back burner! If I could get my eating problem under control I would have losing weight and controling my weight on my brain 24/7! I don't want to do that! I have other things to worry about! Just can't see that happening! I am hopeless!

I relate to you a great deal because I have been an emotional eater for as long as I can remember. I used to turn to food whenever I felt sad and if I felt very happy and had something to celebrate I would of course use food! It may be genetic because my sister does the same thing! What I have been doing lately in order to lose a couple of pounds is walk my dog every day for longer, cut portion sizes and when I get the urge to eat for emotional reasons I quickly go outside and start walking or run a bath put on a funny movie., anything to get my mind off food. It is not easy and sometimes professional help is required to overcome this problem. Please don’t fell hopeless, believe me you are not alone! If you feel you cannot do it on your own find a counsellor who may be able to help you or talk to your doctor, I had counselling for a while, it didn’t ‘cure’ me of all my problems but it helped. Good luck...

I need counselling not to see a doctor! My regular doctor is a jerk and always complains to me,lose weight or get diabitis! I know if I see my gyn she'll be on case too! I have had therapy in the past, lots, and I am not looking forward to going through that again! I am still burnt out from the years I did go through it! I also don't think before I eat alot of times! It is a bad habit I should work on it!

I know how you feel. All it requires is some real discipline and determination and you'll be on your way. Easier said than done, but health is so important these days East less and treat yourself at the end of the week if you manage to eat less than usual. Or join a weightwatchers class near where you are. Have fun.

...Hi there blue65packer, Weight is a problem for a lot of us. I don't drink to excess, I don't smoke but I eat a lot sometimnes because that then becomes my vice. Some of the things that would help you which might be doable would be to start to drink more water, that flushes the fat. Take a potassium pill every now and then to keep your chemical balance or drink Gator Ade. Eat mini meals during the day instead of three large meals. No eating after 7 o'clock. Exercise before you get out of bed. Buy a jump rope and use it. Drink lots of Green tea. Cut the white bread, sugar and use less salt. You will start to see a difference in your body, oh and chew your food into the consistency of baby food. These things are not hard and you are not starving yourself. Have a small dish of ice cream every now and then. Your stomach will start to shrink and your body will follow. Stop beating yourself up, love yourself. You are a good person. "o) Good luck.

I hate green tea and all other teas! I eat after 7pm all the time! I get hungry and I have a bad habit eating, like cookies, candy bars and ice cream after midnight. It is a habit I have had for a very long time and if I don't do that I go through withdraws and I am a rotten sleeper! Always have been! That is the worst habit I have and want to do hypnosis so I can stop that!

....Hi there, Your response makes me a little concerned for your health. You might want to research pre-diabetic conditions and see if anything is relative to your situation. Your blood sugar levels may be out of synch and that would be serious business. So check the internet if you would, if nothing is pertinent so be it, if it is, you should have your blood sugar level checked by a doctor. Take care.

Herro blue65packer First off, u are not hopeless. There are things you can do and still keep food as your comfort. You can change the type of food you eat. I too wanted to loose weight. I used to eat lots of pasta and cookies. In order to loose weight I researched the foods I can eat that are filling and less weight gain. Raw vegetables are good. At this point attempting to change the quantity may not work for you. Do you like yogurt? They have tons of flavors and they have light also. When I want a snack I grab a raw vegetable or yogurt. I stopped eating cookies. They were defeating me. I still eat at buffets, just changed what I put on my plate. I cannot do the exercise necessary for weight loss, however I can walk. Herro nrab_11207 Set small reasonable goals. If your goal is unreasonable, you will set yourself up for failure. My goal was 1lb per week. Did it take me some time, it took 18mo. It calculated to 2lbs per month. Maintenance is my goal now. We can stay in touch if you would like. Prosperous mylotting

NRAB: Actually, you probably are. You see, experts have been telling us for some time now that most diets are notorious for causing weight gain. This is because when you cut down on food, it causes your body to go into "starvation mode," meaning that it grabs onto every calorie it can, resets your metabolism, & if you even ONCE get off of it, & then get back on, your body starves on fewer calories, after a while setting the calorie intake SO low that if you didn't go off, you would starve. Worst, it takes fewer calories to gain weight, while YOU feel as though you're starving! Such "diets" create rabid hunger, so you get off the diet because your body "thinks" you're starving, & thus need even MORE calories & this vicious cycle is doomed to defeat you! There are diets that don't do this, but talk to a good nutritionist to choose one that won't make your stomach beg to ask if you've cut your throat! Exercise is good, to an extent, but don't take on a regime you can't handle, or you won't be able to keep it up. Pray, & ask God to bless your effort. The short answer is get out of denial and find a better friend. But seriously is there some support group you can join to help you with this? Somepeople do better when they have other people losing weight along with them, walking with them, sharing tips, etc.

Go ahead and eat 24/7. Never ever go on a diet or starve yourself. You will not get the required nutrients your body needs. Just make sure you spend half your time you spend eating to burning those calories. Instead of losing a lot of weight, maintain a healthy weight compared to your body mass index. Workout, and do cardiovascular exercises. Also do muscle building exercises. You'll be fit, and you'll look nice and toned.

I agree, if you cannot stop eating, then you should try starting an exercise routine. that'll help you burn all your calories intake. or better yet, try enrolling in a fitness program. it'll only be hard at the start, but that's normal and afterwards, you'll get use to it. and a piece of advice "what you eat is what you are, so still, be careful on those carbs. :)

Its not a matter of not eating, its a matter of WHAT your eating. Fruits and Veggies you can eat until your hearts content. As part of a healthy diet and work out routine there is a diet aid called ADIPEX I think you and your doctor might want to explore. And as far as worrying STOP. If after you have prayed about a situation and you have done all that you can do let it go and GOD will do the rest. Be blessed sweethear and I pray that everything will turn out great in the end.

Oh brother! If I ate 24/7 I'd be over a 1,00o lbs! I suck at exercising! I'm also 48! It is getting harder to stay at a certain weight or lost any! Gaining comes more easily! You try changing you eating habits! It isn't easy!

Oh believe me I DO sympathise. Food has so often been my crutch, but I think that now I have managed to get my head around it. My 'diet' isn't really a diet at all but a general healthy eating programme that isn't hard work, no calorie counting no 'points'. If you want to see what the diet is like go to www.oldchem.piczo.com Good luck, you CAN do it!!

Oldchem: I'm diabetic, so much of what you list is forbidden--even in small quantities--particularly that carb level on the bottom! And by the way, that pyramid is the same one used in the U.S. to fatten pigs. I think you must be doing something with this diet to make it work. I hope I never become diabetic! My doctor always b*tches at me if I don't I will end up with diabetis and I know two people in my family had it,too. That doesn't even get me motivated to lose some weight! Nothing seems to!

Try eating less. You can eat 6 times a day but of little amount only. Just also try to avoid foods with lots of sugar and carbohydrate contents. If possible, try munching vegetable chips only when you feel that you're hungry.

hi, since you cannot stay away from food and still want to lose weight, why dont u try those foods that help in losing weight? here is a list of food which are known to help you maintain your weight. so i wud advise you to consume more of these below mentioned foods: 1.Blueberries: Not only are they a rich source of antioxidants but also reduce ageing and help in keeping off abdominal fat. 2.Asparagus: Being a natural diuretic, it helps to shed water weight. Asparagus also contains phytochemical glutathione, which has antioxidants and cancer preventing properties. 3. Apples: Rich in fibre, they keep you satisfied for longer, which is the key to maintaining a healthy weight. 4. Eggs: High in proteins, eggs are good for long lustrous hair. Being a good source of Vitamin B12, they help break down fat too. 5. Yoghurt: A rich source of good bacteria, it strengthens and stabilises the immune system. These probiotics can also work to improve the functioning of our GI tract. 6. Green tea: Aids digestion, detoxifies the body, making the skin glow. It also helps burn calories. 7. Salmon: It is a rich source of Omega 3 fatty acids that help burn fat and add glow to the skin. 8.Cinnamon: Reduces cholesterol levels in the body and regulates blood sugar, making it extremely beneficial for those with type 2 diabetes. 9.Almonds: High in alpha linoleic acid, they can speed up the metabolism of fat as they contain good fat. . 10.Soya bean: Contains choline which breaks down fatty deposits and blocks fat absorption. here are some tips for healthy cooking 1. Reduce consumption of fat, especially saturated fat and cholesterol. Choose low-fat cheeses and milk or low-cholesterol dairy and egg substitutes whenever possible. Choose chicken, turkey, fish over red meat. Use low-fat, low cholesterol margarine instead of butter for cooking. Choose olive oil or polyunsaturated vegetable oils over tropical oils. 2. Choose a dietary pattern in which your caloric intake is consistent with energy expenditure. Keep your activity level high and limit intake of high-carbohydrate foods. 3. Increase consumption of complex carbohydrates and fiber by choosing whole-grain foods, cereals, green salads, vegetables and fruits. 4. Reduce intake of sodium by choosing foods low in sodium content and by limiting the amount of salt added in food preparation and at the table. 5. Avoid eating stale food even if it has been well preserved in the refrigerator, as it could be loaded with germs. 6. Vitamin C is good for the bones, skin, and blood. So, remember to eat a citrus fruit every day. 7. Iron deficiency is the commonest but not the only cause of anemia. Therefore, if you are anemic, consult a doctor for the diagnosis. 8. If you are vulnerable to dental cavities, then choose foods lower in sugar content and limit the frequency of consumption of foods high in sugars. 9. Women should increase consumption of foods high in calcium, including low fat dairy products, fishes like salmon, sardines and mackerel, spinach, oysters, etc. 10. Too little calories can slow down the bodys metabolism, thereby decreasing the absorption of vitamins and essential nutrients too. 11. If you tend to overeat always, eating salads before your main course will fill you up in advance, thereby making you eat less. 12. Breakfast cereals can provide just the right amounts of carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals as we start the day.

Keep a watchful eye on every thing that goes in. Sometimes the garnishes can richer than the food itself. Accompaniments too can be very rich. Remember that it is the easiest thing in the world to eat something without realizing that it was something that you should not have eaten

you don't have to give up food that you love; just eat smaller portions. also, involve yourself in more physical activity. in order to lose weight we need to burn more calories than we take in. walking is a good way to keep active and speed up your metabolism. start slow and build up each day. don't get discouraged if you don't see results right away. just keep at it. good luck.

Good luck! I need all the help I can get! I am not a physical person! I love to sit infront of the tv or my pc instead of doing anything else. I have tried wolaking on one of my breaks at work but I am very inconsistent. Having bad phantar fasciias in my left heel doesn't help either! I am pretty lazy when I want to be!

You know, I can see myself in you. I've been trying to lose weight for many years now. I guess we should practice discipline. My family and friends of mine say that discipline is the key. If you don't have this, you cannot achieve your goal. I guess we should practice this often so we can achieve our ideal weight in no time.
