I just realized I haven't eaten rice this day. I drink milk this morning and a pandesal (bread) and had fruit salad this lunch. I do usually have 3-4 meals a day, with rice of course. So the sudden change is weird. I should be starving now but I don't.. This isn't good I think, this would make me thinner. and my ulcer! ugh! You, have you tried not eating rice for the whole day?

Well, can't you just tell I am from the UK? For me it would be a few days without bread. Not that I eat bread every day, but very few pass by without a sandwich of some sort.

At work I am night shift, so usually take something pasta with me, as I cannot leave the building. In this weather I'll usually eat a continental breakfast- meats/ cheese/ fruit. My partner works days, so for evening meal often salad or a pork/ chicken based meal. We do have rice side dishes if I cook Indian or Chinese food. Rice, peas, sweetcorn, shredded courgette & peppers (on a hot plate). So I guess rice once a week , perhaps. Sandwiches are for snacks. My partner is gluten allergenic, and GF bread is around £2.50 a loaf! If we are both home the same day, we might have an English breakfast that day.

Yes I have. But I don't think I have succeeded and ever would. I'm very much a rice-person. And not eating rice for the day would very much felt like I've not eaten for the day. Take care for your ulcer!

I go through most days without rice and function perfectly fine. I think you will feel better from not eating it as much. It has little nutritional value and is only really a cheap filler. Fill yourself up with foods that have more nutritional value like fruits and vegetables and you will find that your performance in all aspects of your life will improve.

Well, as an American, you are really used to not eating rice. But we Filipinos are into rice. But I know when I get there in your place, I can adjust and have vegetables, fruits or any food rich in carbohydrates instead of having rice! Well, as of now, I eat rice since I'm just here in the Philippines. be blessed Rawbill! :) Hugs, attente

Exactly, Filipinos are used to having rice. Even when on diets, they just reduce the amount they intake. But when you go to other countries, you can adjust and I suppose you can say that you can go without a rice in a day. hehehe.

welcome to the wonderful world of mylot. my answer to your question is NO. we Filipinos are used to eating rice, some two times a day and some three times a day. my wife is a good cook and she also loves cooking different kind of friend rice. so i can stand eating rice once a day but no rice at all will be hard for me. i never tried it before but if ever i ate no rice for the whole afternoon i will still eat rice at night even if i am about to sleep. for it makes my tummy crumble and my boy is not satisfied on what i ate the whole day. i need rice atleast once a day.

I couldn't agree more! We Filipinos are really into rice! For sure, I'll be having rice before going to sleep. My tummy's starting to crumble now actually! Good to hear that you're wife is a good cook! How I wish I can be like her. But now, still on my way of becoming a good cook. I don't have work and the only thing I do here is mylotting, so maybe I'll practice cooking! thanks! be blessed! :)

We do not cook rice everyday at home, but we eat mostly bread and salads and curry without rice, we are used to this menus for years, so I think if you find something nicer than rice then you would eventually be able to stay away from rice for a long period which is good too.

I suppose you're not from Philippines. We, the Filipinos, are really into rice. Rice is present in every meal. But some of my friends have tried that diet when they joined the cheerleading squad, eating wheat bread for the whole month! hehe. :D

Yes. Most of the time it was the day after Christmas or New Year when there are lots of food still left. And most of them are carbohydrates rich foods that can substitute rice. But I'm still craving for rice. I don't think you will get an ulcer as long as you are eating. It doesn't matter if it is rice or not.

Of course I have. The nearest time is half a month ago, I came back to school by train, it spent a whole day, and I only ate a hamburger and some melon nuts. But weirdly, I didn't feel very starving.

Oooh. that's not good. Maybe because you've got used to it already. You might not be starving, but the result would be apparent when you're old.

i eat rice everday at least once or twice. i find it very difficult for not having rice a day. if i don't have rice for the whole day, no matter what i eat, and even my stomach has no space anymore, i still want rice...at least for once. have a nice day
