I recently bought myself a Macbook Pro and it's due to arrive tomorrow :D But this is my first time using Mac software, I've been using Windows all my life. What apps do you think are a must-have for a Mac? Sure, the usuals like Firefox, Vuze and VLC media player, but are there any special apps for the Apple OS that you would recommend?

Congrats dude, for buying your first Mac. Before I was also full time windows user, later I bought macbook white, not pro. In start I didn't liked as much as I thought. As I learn using mac, I loved it. Now, I can never go back to windows again. As a friendly advice, you have problems and issues in start because your a newbie but later you'll love it. Now about apps. This list would be random accord. Quicksilver Skype Vlc firefox chrome Gruml ( its bunny because it's in beta ) Evernote 1password tweetie unrarx its a huge list. Can't even remember my favorite apps ;-(

Thanks so much for the app list! :D I can't wait to get started. How long did it take you to get used to the new interface, approximately? A few days, I hope?

For the interface, its very easy to use. May be for you, it will take few days only. If you want to learn more about Mac from basic tips and tricks to advance videos, you should go to macmost.com and its very good website for every mac user. I learnt and still learning many things about mac os x, basically to have full control on your mac you'll need a year or so.

I realize this is kindof an old discussion. but photoshop and utorrent are a must. ALso i woul recomend changing your spaces expose and other gestures to your liking.... I personally am a HUGE fan of expose and spaces. i love to organize and multitask at the same time. Also make sure to wash your hands before using your notebook... nobody likes shiney key syndrom :P
