No--- this is not from my research. But, from a Bangalore based SILICON INDIA representation. Though one can contest and prove or disprove... All I wanted you to know is.. that there are other factors, which influence the performance of any employee. Not just the appreciation, or the monetary benefits. Not the medical and dental insurance, or the PERKS like paying the family holidays. And, definitely not the other stock options. and career promotions. it is a superstition and a belief .. that.... you are the chosen one. and the luckiest one. Just read at this link.. http://www.siliconindia.com/shownews/Superstitions_has_got_a_wide_role_in_better_performance_Study-nid-68918.html?utm_source=Subscriber&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=Weekend%20Newsletter Goodluck now! you all need it more.. for a better performance in mylot too.

you are lucky to have a big fan-following, dear sweetie pie.. so, you can manage without being superstitious. But, for me, it is required .. sometimes, I employ paid BOOSTERS, whose job is just to encourage me, and keep talking in all praise about me and my skills.

I knew you could never come up with something so nice as that! Now I am superstitious, if you pay for my fare up and down Pilani, and Surajpur from Hyderabad, I will become as rich as the Queen. If that turns out to be true, I promise, I will get you one of the worst houses in Jubilee Hills - as of date. How about it?

oh. dear Vandana my love, .. I am amazed when you appreciate. I think, I am dreaming. How else would you retrack and change the offer. You offered flight to Hyderabad to Delhi, .. for me, and you promised to travel by second class general bogie, .. just to prove that you are not an OLD WOMAN. i AM happy with my small dungeon at Dr.A.S.Rao Nagar...

hi consultrainer I think it proves if you believe in a superstition to have power in your performance you will have it as its giving your mind the power of self esteem and belief in your own ability.I think when I was told I would do well in a test the idea really made me work extra hard to learn all the material.I did do well so positive thinking has somethng to do with it also. power of positive thinking and supersititions can really boost your self esteem.

that is great . Dear Hatley.. what you have said about POSITIVE THINKING is to be practiced by all teachers. No student is to be called a duller. it would manifest, and the student might soon believe that he truly cannot perform. instead, if it is suggested that the student would perform beyond capacity, he would!... I have read with amazement, the book... THINK, and GROW RICH. .. did you?

Hi consultrainer, i didn't believe in these superstitions. I noticed most of the people believe in this, i feel all these must be psychological satisfaction.

that is a tricky situation , dear JOTOMY. this psychological satisfaction is what, some of us, believe to be GOD and the MAGIC of GOD. .. so, as I have been very careful in putting in my opening remarks of the topic,... One can neither PROVE nor DISPROVE ...

that sounds ridculous, if we are secure in our job and what we do, why raise suspicions to get that?

I think what really makes a good performance is the good attitude of an employee. It is just that, if an employee believes on superstitions, his/her attitude towards work is more focus and more concern. And this lead to a more useful attitude of an employee. For me this is a coincidence, and that is why this superstitions caught many believers.

lols. From the books of Management theory, and personality development, I would quote that any person should be having ASK. A for attitude, S for skill and K for Killer Instinct. ... But, the research in question here in the topic did not consider doing a double-blind study .. to prove or disprove that the SUPERSTITION on LUCK.. really helped in the performance. So, i CANNOT contest your statement that it is purely coincidence. thanks for the comments.

The Chinese believes in Fengshui, which is about positioning one's luck. Some people may try to change their luck by buying some charm items, or changing the position of furniture. For eg, it is considered bad luck for one's bed to face the door, and good luck if we sit against a wall. Some people may labelled it as superstition but for those who believed it, it really works! So how do we explain this phenomena?

lols. if only you used the 8th standard common science, ... you can explain most of the phenomena, about VASTU, or FENG SHUI... it all requires a bit of analysis. Again, it is similar to UNDERLINING the word, in a big paragraph. The word is not introduced. It is already existing. All that is done by highlighting is, grabbing the attention. Wearing a CHARM or a TALISMAN, .. is like that, with LUCK.
