I plan to get another new computer and want something that will handle games and be capable of running multiple programs at once, the system I have now is a Dell Pentium 3 1.8ghz 20 gig hard drive. It runs OK but doesn't handle multiple programs very well, any suggestions as to a good system in the price range of about $1500.00 CAD.

As far as brands go, Compaq has been good to me. I had a Compaq Presario laptop for many years, and it didn't get too slow. Good luck!

Thanks Deeds, I was looking at dell again and found a beauty there, to the tune of about $2500.00. It is has a AMD athelon duo core processor, 250 gig hard drive, 4 gig ram and 256 graphics card. LCD flat screen 17 inch monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse DVD R/RW..I am waiting till after the holidays to get it. I just want something that will do multiple programs for me and play games decently. I have a Dell now but it is just not cutting it, don't get me wrong , I have had this system 4 years now and it has never given me grief, and I know I could get another 10 years out of it, but it just isn't powerfull enough and I can't upgrade it enough to make it what I want.

I know what you mean.. my roommate had a Dell and it didn't last for very long. I haven't heard of anyone using a Dell as a very long-term computer. I hope your choice works out for you, whatever it may be!
