Local vs. Chain

When it comes to pizza restaurants - do you prefer local or chain restaurants? I feel like you can typically get better deals at chain pizza restaurants but is the deal worth the difference in taste? My husband and I ordered pizza on a whim last night from a local, New York pizzeria. The pizza cost us about $20 for an XL with pepperoni and mushrooms. We could have gone to pizza hut and got a pizza with as many toppings as we wanted (pizza would have been a little smaller) for $10. But the quality and taste of the local restaurant made the extra cost totally worth it. I still like both local and chain pizza places. We will continue to order from both. But I do think that from time to time it's worth the extra money to get a good, home-made, local pizza! What do you think?

I like my pizza hut pizza and bread sticks. I don't know what it is with their pan pizzas that taste so yummy. I do like my chain pizza huts and pizza huts will never go out of style because there so worth the money to me. I do have a friend that owns a local pizzaeria shop that is so yummy too. Now their pizza is so New York style and is is unelievable. I do like there stuff better than pizza hut but i do like both. I usually always order from my friend to keep him in business and support what he is doing with his life.

Being a ex owner of a pizza business it comes down to quality and quanity. the double Q i called it .. Now you can go to your chain and get your so called supream pizza for 5 to 8 bux but look at the toppings, come on no lik my shop when you ordered a supream it was 2 inches thick and that is your difference God bless www.discipleradio.com

I totally agree - you're right! It is all about quantity. If you want to taste a real good pizza then local pizzeria is the way to go. The chains are good when you need a bunch of cheap pizzas or if you're looking for a cheap meal.

I like local stores. Local stores keep money in the economy and give work to local residents. With chain stores, all they is send their money out of the community. Even if the prices are a little higher. I'm going to go local if possible.

We don't have many chain pizza places around here. We have a bunch of local ones though. I think I prefer the local pizza better. It tastes more fresh to me.
