Did you go to church today with it being Father's Day?

So, the reason I'm asking this question is because I was planning on going to church this morning but did not get up in time. I then realized that it was father's day today and ended up being glad that I did not go. My little girl is with my dad today. But she doesn't know who her daddy is and frankly I don't want to know who it is until I necessarily have to know. I know it's rought but I've 4 DNA tests are already ( long story and don't want to explain) but I'm thankful that I don't know because the last person that the DNA test was done on was the one that ended up getting put in prison for 12 years for child rape on 2 counts. No, I'm not saying he did it, but his actions on me and others I wouldn't put it past him. Anyways, so my question is do you go to church on mother's day or father's day when you may have to deal with a situation of not knowing like me and put up with questions from people who don't know you as to why you don't know who her father is. I'm just curious what you all think about it because I decided today wouldn't be a good day to go to church and i decided to just to hang out at home and let my little girl go with my dad so we wouldn't have to deal with that question today. I don't know I just having to explain especially when it comes to people I barely know or people that just want to gossip. What do you all think? go to church or not go to church if you don't know who the parent is of your child? I'm talking more on like mother's day or father's day. For example if you had a child and you didn't know who her father was would you still go to church on fathers day?

I dont think we really have to go to church on father's day whether you know or you dont know the father of your child. In my country, we do not really celebrate mothers day or fathers day until it was included in the calendar of celebrations about two decades ago. This is just an influence from Americans and not all of us celebrates this occassion. It is good to recognize the love and care we had from our parents and i would say that for me everyday is parents day. We dont have to follow certain rules also in celebrating these occassions.

I know a lot of parents that go to church think they have to be in there every time the door the opens but I've been to where I'm just not feeling the need to go right now. I think it's good that you honor your parents like that on a daily basis or as much as you can. I always do things for my mom because I live with her and she works two jobs. Kathryn is my daughter and she is with me all the time and she spent the day with my dad so it was really good that she didn't have to go and listen to all that.

Yes, I would. A specific day, like Father's day, has nothing to do with God. We go to church to praise and worship God, it is all about God, not about us (whether we have this or that). If you go to church with a child that has no father, God would still accept that.

I know he does, but the thing is it's very hard for some of us to go especially like on fathers day because they give out father's day cards to the kids so they can give them to there dad's. So it's just hard for me to go. It was good tho to just stay home and not really worry about what Kathryn was going to feel over the whole situation
