Sehwag ruled out of Asia cup, Dinesh Karthik replaces Viru. good replacement??

India's firing opener virendra sehwag is ruled out of the on going Asia cup due to hamstring injury.
Viru injured during the match that india played against pakisthan on the 19th,he payed that match with the help of a runner.
he is out of the team asked to take a rest of 10 days due to the hamstring injury.
This is a sad news for indian team, he will be a big miss for the team that too in the absence of sachin.
Dinesh karthik will replace the injured virendra sehwag,I dont know why the selectors are always taking dinesh karthik as backup opener?
do you think that dinesh karthik is a good replacement for the sparkling batsman like viru?
selectors should have selected some one who is more aggressive.and still i dont know why the selectors avoid Robin Uthappa?
now its the role for dhoni to pick the team, lets hope that Saurab tiwary will get some chance.if dhoni takes karthik as opener then it will be a failure once again.

Nobody can replace Sehwag but Robin Uttappa would have been a better choice than D.Karthik. An opener should be replaced by a opener, Robin would have done fairly good job as he is a genuine opener also debuted as an opener before 2007 World cup. His talent as been show cased in this Indian Premier League. He is one batsman who can clear any boundary against any bowler. Just remember the Brett Lee's over in Indian Premier League for Punjab were he was smacked for 24 runs in an over. And Karthik is not capable of replacing any full time batsman. I think he is lucky to get so many chances in-spite of not performing well.

he gets chance again and again, only because of the fact that he is from tamilnadu.
the chief selector Kris srikanth is also from tamilnadu and he is selecting him again and again, even though he is not performing.

yup but R uthappa is still neglected?
D karhik has got many chances before. lets see what will team decide in next 2 matches.

Dinesh karthik is not a good opener, its ok for backup wicket keeper.
but i dont know why the selectors take dinesh karthik when an opener get injured?
lets watchout how dhoni is going to pick the team and set the batting order?

Yes, Kartik gets another chance to redeem himself. The problem with Kartik is that he will score those cute 20-30 and then get out. I think it would have been worth bringing back Vijay as this was in the sub continent, but not sure if the confidence of the management is low on him and that is the reason why they have preferred Kartik over him. In fact, they could have requested Sachin to come in as a replacement for the finals!!
