Good looks versus intelligence

I am normal looking. Looks don't impress me. It is the person that is important to me.

I am very good looking, was offered a modeling contract by Barbizon at age 15 (even though my mom said I was too young to go to France). There are many advantages to being good looking. I went in the convenience store one day and was $0.13 short on my purchase and the cashier let me get it still because he said I was the most gorgeous brown skinned woman he'd ever seen. I nicely smiled, thanked him and went on without anything further. The main disadvantage to being good looking is that everyone wants you to look that good ALL THE TIME even when you're not feeling your best or feeling sick. On the flip side, I am very intelligent. I always have been and have received lots of recognition for my intellect. Brains and beauty is a deadly combination and because of that I know that I will make it quite far in life. Being intelligent is an advantage within itself because you can always express your thoughts and engage in situational debates with others that peak their interests and yours. So, there's rarely a boring moment unless you encounter a person whom is not as intelligent. Even then, I enjoy spreading my knowledge to others. There are a few disadvantages to being intelligent. Sometimes it's annoying to others especially when they don't know what you're talking about. Also, people who do know that you are intelligent, expect you to know a little about EVERYTHING! First impressions are my specialty!

hello dear anna, I am not good looking and i am not intelligent either. I little bit smarter than you are i think i am (hahaha) Benefits of being good looking,of course,you will be admired by most people. Physical appearance garner so much applause,smart or dull it doesn't matter as long as he/she looks beautiful. The beauty has less disadvantage compared to advantages that it could give to the possessor. Intelligence comes next,..since it needs proof before being recognize by the society. And,intelligence do have lots of disadvantages ,coz,people always expect good results from you. People always had high expectations from you,and it gives you pressure to do your best,or even outdo your very best. I better to have a good looks,and,will do my best to acquire knowledge,rather than having a beauty that is acquired thru surgery You are looking good enough for me nah my dear brother...

Hi vijayanths I do not know whether I am good looking or not and do not think i am enjoying any benefits out of it. But if any one says that i am good looking, it gives an instant happiness but no benefit. But I am definitely intelligent and enjoying lot of benefits too. If anybody talks to me for 5 mts they will start liking me at once, and in this way I am gaining lot of friends both online and offline. If I see someone doing any special thing, I will observe it keenly for a couple of minutes and learn it and impress them by doing the same and they will teach me about some other skills in which they are ace. In this way I have learnt lot of things which is useful in my day to day family needs

Vijayanths, I am old now. This is not fair. Anyway, I was in my words, front personality back municipality. Yeah, I faced a lot of jealousy because of it. There was a colleague who used to sell pickles to make the two ends meet. So though I could get pickles from market, I used to ask her to make some for me, and pay for it without bargaining. The third year, she remarked, yeah you make me do all that work and look older while you remain young and attractive. I thought that was uncalled for, because the thought never crossed my mind. There were several such instances. I helped her improve her appearance so that she would look better, but her jealous nature didnt stop. So I was forced to be nasty with her when it got too much for me. She happened to be the wife of a drunkard, and started asking me "you dont have any children, why dont you write your properties to mine". I guess I was in real foul mood that day - I just turned around and told her I would if I thought her child was good looking enough. She is the same one who left a younger colleague struggling on road after a minor accident. To me looks dont matter vijayanths. But I have often used that as something to get back at people. It has kinda become my defense tool!

Hi Vijay!! Yeah I am totally agreed with you that good looks and intelligence have their seperate advantages. But the most important for me is the combinition of both looks and intelligence. If you're both good looking as well as smart .. you have great chances for becoming successful. Well I guess good looks does have some disadvantages also with them. The biggest of them is obviously facing the jealousy of other people around you for no reason. Your people, friends and colleagues may be jealous to you because of your looks and you are left helpless. Intelligence for me seldom has any disadvantage, although facing the jealousy of people is also present with this, but still intelligence can fix any matter more nicely . So being intelligent is not that much a disadvantage for people than being goodlooking.

I am not sure If I am good looking, safe to say I am not. It depends of what other people look at me. The advantage of being a good looking is you can attract people only by seeing you there. Like when I saw a good looking man, I will look at him from head to toe. I will look if he has flaws or is there anything that I will feel disappointed with him, but when nothing I will continue to like him as a good looking person. They will be like a the first sight of them, unlike if you will get to know a certain person, you have to be their friends before you will know them and you will find out that they are smart. Except if you are a celebrity which everythings about you will put written in the paper as a publicity stint.

i sympathize with you. i don't have the looks if one may see me. i don't have the eye catching feature. though i may have the height but i never had the "wow" face. anyways, good looks does have more opportunities most of the time. i would have to categorize this as opportunities. but intelligence still needs to be proven. so with the not so good looking guy, he has to have more efforts in proving that he has the intelligence. quite a big difference if i look at the differences.

good looks means having a standard posture. good looks has its own advantages. intelligence has also many advantages . intelligence means the ability to do something in a very shot method. most of the people perform the same task but the individual who completes this task in a very short time is a person with intelligence.

hi there vijayanths... well, good looks are also important... but intelligence is important too... but you know as what they say everything that is too much is bad... we must keep everything in balance... Just like what our family have, they are all intelligent, lawyers, doctors... one tried to memorize the dictionary, so that uncle of mine ended up in a mental hospital, then another one tried too... he went to the mental hospital too... other family members, ppl dont wanna talk to them coz they always answer in philosophical way... You are lucky enough to have either. What if you don't have any and finding a job is hard? An online biz is not paying much either.

hello vijayanths! my grandfather used to say that intelligent people are much more fortunate than beautiful but empty-headed people, coz a smart person can find ways to exude prettiness and beauty just by the way she/he talks and project themselves. Moreover, with today's technology, one can enhance one's feature to be more pretty or beautiful while nothing can substitute intelligence. i for myself is gifted with intelligence, or so they say. I had been an honor student since my elementary days up to college and although it has many advantages, one disadvantage i really don't quite like is that if you happen to commit a mistake, no matter how simple it is, the people would take it against you. they forget that being smart does not assure that a person would always be perfect, not commit any mistakes whatsoever. Another disadvantage is that people would constantly rely on you, even if you are too overburden with work, just because you're smart, they think you are superhuman and can do all those things, without blinking an eye. anyway, i am also gifted with natural charm which people often mistakes as beauty. i know i am quite ordinary by face but many people, men and women alike tells me that my personality is so enticing, charming that people can't help but notice me. they say i have a vibrant personality coupled with a not-ugly face, charming smile and enigmatic eyes and average body size, is often mistaken as beauty. one disadvantage of being attractive is that people misjudge by appearance, even before they hear you speak. and if you happen to be a jolly person too, they think you are just that, a pretty-fun loving person with an empty mind. but i am thankful for these gifts, it has its own blessings and curses but nothing which i can't live with. it's a matter of how you deal with life that matters, we can either make a heaven of hell, or hell out of heaven..it depends on us.

Well.. when you are applying for a job, people with good looks get hired easily eventhough they are not that much smart.

sometimes there is a disadvantage if you look outstanding than the rest of people around you well im talking about classroom.you wouldnt want to be spotted by lecturer would you? lol just kidding

i can call myself average looking...not too beautiful...and mostly i don't leave first impression on people just by my looks...but i am sure that i speak well as compared to my looks...cos when i have spoken to people before meeting them....i found that they were too eager to meet me and had interest in meeting...and if it happens opposite....means if people see me first ...what i have predicted is that they find me somewhat practical, not very sensitive and reserved kind of person...but as they meet me more often...they start liking me....i think its better than having only first impression good and slowly it worsens...

Beauty will forever lie in the eyes of the beholder, especially now that the breeding had become international (that doesn't sound so nice). So the handsome to you might not be good looking for me. But, intelligence just about covers up what lacks in the physical.

Sometimes too much intelligence can be a curse at times, because you see things that others do not....

As we all know a coin has two sides,, every thing has its own advantages as well as disadvantages.. imppressing others in the first site is not a very big thing... i think maintaining it s difficult.. If we are intelligent enough to understand every thing and has a little bit of confidence, we can tackle so many things....
