Do you have a problem when fans refer to their favorite team as " we" or Us"? thanks Mike And Mike on ESPN. Golic, a former football player said he no fan should be able to refer to their favorite team as we or us, unless the team is the national team. Me/ I Know there are teams that fans feel closer to , have more invested heartwise in more than any National team! I never say we or us , I use My and mine! My Red Wings didn't make it... My Giants, football Giants, won! Your thoughts.

I know I have been guilty of using "we"or "us" to discribe my team favorite like the Packers! I have done it when I and others are all talking about the team, the Packers! Favorite NFL team is the Packers,of course! MLB team is the Brewers and NBA team is the Bucks. Mike Golic was a Philadelphia Eagle and was an offense linemen. He should of used the US won instead of "we" won! He probaly thinks soccer isn't as important as other sports!

No, no, He Is taking soccer seriously . He thinks one shouldn't use " we" or "us" when taking about your favorite teams like the Packers. He think one should say the team I root for instead. He is all for using us when it is the National team.

Hi Sarah! I find that there is nothing wrong if we refer a team as our team or my team. Fans feels attached to their favourite teams and there is nothing wrong if they feel possessive about their teams. I endorse your views.

Not really sure, but I think I don't use "my" or "we" or "us" to refer to the canucks. They are of course significantly at the highest level of the 'teams-I-root-for scale for me. And I don't have any problems with other people using these terms to refer to their teams. It just shows how emotionally invested some fans are. And I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
