I did today, I found a book by the author Susan Hill in a charity shop. I wouldn't necessarily have picked it up before but during a discussion with Oldchem1 about the prequels to the novel Rebecca, she'd said she thought Susan Hill was a very good author. The novel is The Service of Clouds and I'll be reading it in the next few days.

I sure have! I began a discussion about a week ago about my new favorite author, James Patterson. I got quite a few recommendations on books of his to read as well as a recommendation to check out another, similar author, Dean Koontz. I went to the book store later that week and checked out all of the books that were recommended to me and then I ended up purchasing a few of them! I'm thankful for my Mylot friends recommendations.

On the "Making Money" section, I've check out some links but have never followed through. Is Susan Hill's writing style anything like Daphne du Maurier's?

That's great. I like to hear some mylotter's recommendations because I trust their tastes. I have rented a couple of movies before based on a recommendation by a couple of mylotters. One was a documentary. I cannot remember which one it was - it was a couple of years ago. But I remember that I was glad I took the mylotter's suggestion.

I haven't seen any recommendation, yet. But I tend to look on the subject or the story first, not on the author. When after reading it I like the way the author presented the subject or the story, the next time I need a book I will look for other books of the same authors.
