After eating (breakfast, lunch, or dinner), I always feel so sleepy. But I tried to not sleep after lunch, coz many people here said that if u go to sleep after lunch, u will get fat easily. Im really scared to be fat, so i never do that even though i feel so sleepy after eating. So, to avoid that, i usually do something to not make me sleep, such as take a walk (even though some people said that taking a walk after eating is not good for digestion, but i prefer doing this rather than sleeping). How about u my lotters?

Hello. I agree with you. I get so sleepy after taking lunch but it only happens when I think I ate too much. So I don't eat rice for lunch. Just a light meal (usually veggies or fish) and have some fruits like apples or banana to make me feel full. After that, I go with my colleagues and play billiards or word factory for half an hour with them. LOL.

Hi, For sure, after having my meal I won't go to sleep straightly. Alot of people said that I will easily get fat if I were to sleep after eating my meal. So for me, I prefer to have a walk or at least watch TV for resting. or eat some fruits for digestion. Only after 1-2 hours after meal, then I will join my son for a short nap.

Hi there Luvlymee 26! Well, after eating a major meal, I always feel sleepy too, like you but when I have classes, I just stay awake by reading and preparing for my next class since on MWF, I have classes at 1:00pm. When I don't have classes, I just stay awake by reading a book or watching TV or a movie.

Hi, luvlymee26. After I eat, I will sit down and relax. I do feel tired after eating and I may doze off for a few moments. If I feel like watching TV, I will watch TV after I eat.

Hi luvly~ It depends on where I am and what I'm doing. If I am at home I usually eat dinner kind of late, which is a very bad habit. I am used to doing that because I used to get home from work late. Now that I'm not working I stay up late and wake up late so I eat at strange hours. I don't recommend anyone following what I do. It is actually good to walk after you eat as long as you don't walk fast it helps you digest your food not the other way around.

Well, for me I can not really go to sleep I work a full-time job. Yes, I heard that if people go to sleep after eating they gain weight. I guess maybe everything slows down and you are not burning it off. Now, if it is a weekend I must admit I have cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner and have gone to sleep after on several occasions. I must also admit I have gained 20 pounds in one year. I think my biggest problem is eating the ice cream for dessert which adds insult to injury and then I go to sleep. Not good at all.

I never feel sleepy after eating these days, but I used to. If you are felling sleepy, it is most likely due to the fact that you are eating foods that are hard to digest, such as meat and grains like bread or rice. When you eat these foods, the body has to work hard to digest them, so it puts all of it's energy into the digestive process, leaving none for your external energy. This is why you feel tired. I used to feel this way, but once I stopped eating meat and really cut back on the grains and ate for fresh and live foods, I started gaining energy from the foods that I was eating straight away. Now I have lots of energy right through the day and can do a fairly extreme workout only an hour after really filling myself up.

I always thought you gained weight if you slept after eating also! It turns out that is just an old wives tale. You might not want to sleep right away because of your digestion system, but you won't gain weight. I always sleep better if I am hungry. A lot of people sleep better if they have eaten. After a baby eats, they take a nap.

I used to stand up for 15 minutes after each meal. It became a habit for me already. Because they say that if you will seat down after eating you will have a bulging tummy. I'm not really sure about that but eventhoug, I made it a habit already to avoid bulging tummies. I don't walk after eating, because it causes me lower abdominal ache after walking.

I never felt sleepy after meals =\ However, I usually take a walk or move around after heavy meals. I feel myself getting fat if I just sit around doing nothing after meals. Hahaha....

I feel OK after eating breakfast, but that is a light meal as I don't eat too much. I always feel very sleepy after lunch though and often drop off at the table! At weekends I sometimes allow myself to fall asleep after lunch, but at other times I am very active. I walk alot and fix my garden and because of that I am not over-weight. It is natural to feel sleepy after a larger meal as the blood flows into the gut to digest food and away from the brain. Most animals fall asleep after meal. As long as you don't sit around all day in a state of inactivity, it is unlikely you would get fat from falling asleep after lunch. _Derek

eating occurs thrice in a day. eating is there in a morning, afternoon, night. in morning after eating people goes to their offices or children go to their schools. in afternoon after eating people prefer to sleep. in night after eating people prefer to go for a walk so that digestion properly takes place.

After eating, or sometimes even during eating , I read newspapers or magazines. When at home after breakfast, I would do cleaning at home after some rest. When I'm at work, I will take a nap after lunch to rest my eyes. After dinner, I will read some reading materials again or will check my personal email.

I too feel sleepy after I have eaten a heavy breakfast, big lunch or dinner I always wondered why we feel tired after eating though you might not be tired. Does mere lifting fork and spoon makes one so tired. Then I read somewhere that the two organs in your body that require the most energy to work properly are the brain and the intestines. After you have eaten, our brain diverts energy towards digestion. It sends a bunch of red blood cells over to help break down the food and to carry the nutrients all over your body. Just because so many blood cells are helping the intestines, the rest of our body takes time to slow down other processes to relax. As a result, we feel tired, because our brain does not have as many blood cells to release more energy in lieu of energy used for digesting food. It means less energy is available to us for running around, therefore we feel tired and sleepy.
