I use both operating systems and I like windows 7. The only thing I didn't like is when I try to program in Turbo C, there's a lot of bugs and also when I use Assembly Languages. How about you guys? Pros? Cons?

Yeah, I prefer it too specially on technical stuff. I hate going into windows 7 and having to use the run command and having a hard time finding it and running the command prompt and having to need to be the admin to make major changes. It wastes a lot of time.

I actually prefer my old Windows XP, i have this on my PC but we have a laptop with Windows 7 on . I think it is just that I am used to XP more and have got a bit stuck in the rut with it!!

I think I am in the same situation as you. I have two other PCs and they run on windows 7 but I just can't get comfortable with it. I guess all I need is a little getting used to it and more time. I still am more comfortable with the my XP operating system in my laptop.

It depends upon your requirements and system configuration.Windows xp is faster, reliable and secure as per my opinion. But If you want attractive look and different features then go for windows seven. If you are using 1-2 GB ram then it is better to use windows XP, because with this type of configuration windows 7 sill slow down your PC.

It's been a long time since I used Windows XP . When Windows Vista is first released, I was hating it to the core and would definitely prefer XP than it . However, now that there's a new generation , Windows 7 , I would prefer that instead since it's a lot better than vista.

I use Windows XP on gaming purposes, because windows 7 still have to reduce graphics settings when you try to play some games which win XP don't do. But i prefer win7 over winxp :)

I have not used Windows XP for a long time now and much prefer Windows 7. I found Windows XP to be a very good operating system, but now that it has been replaced by a superoir system it's lifespan is over as far as I am concerned. A friend of mine still uses Windows XP and claims to prefer it, but I suspect that he is simply not prepared to learn a new system.

I like a lot of Windows 7, it loads fast, is not so heavy as Vista and have great grapgical features, i got no reason to come back to Windows XP.

I now prefer Windows 7 than XP. I have no problem programming in Java for both operation systems but Windows 7 (I'm using professional edition by the way) looks cooler. And I can do more things in Windows 7 than in XP and I think Microsoft is now more focus in Windows 7 than XP.

I prefer Windows 7 now since it has more features and it loads faster... but there are a few bugs in compatibility, but that's a minor problem
