My dad's 55th birthday was today. I came over and put happy birthday balloons up in his house before he woke up. In the afternoon I surprised him with a birthday cake. In asking him questions recently, I found out every year for his birthday he would get a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. He was from a big, poor family, so having a cake at all was a present in itself. That WAS the present. He said that is what he asked for every year, the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. So I went online this week and got a recipe for peanut butter icing (I already knew how to make a chocolate cake of course). This afternoon when I showed him the cake I was so pleased with his reaction! I told him what it was and he was excited. My dad is not demonstrative, and it's hard to tell how he feels about presents or anything given to him (he loves to give people things, but has trouble when people give to him). But his smile was so huge, and I could tell he thought it was so cool. He had not had that since he moved out of his parent's house all those years ago. He said it tasted just like the chocolate cake and peanut butter icing his mom used to make.
I also went to the doctor this morning, and that went very well. I had an agenda when I went in, but was nervous it wouldn't go my way. But it did! So all things considered, it was a good day! And I am enjoying it.

Happy Birthday to your dad and congrats on the good doctor visit.
My day has been a roller coaster. A couple of small good things happened, like my 2 year old finally going pee in the potty. But some very bad things happened too.. like my debit card being declined at the check out, forcing me to not be able to get groceries for the week. Ugh!!

Secondly, that really sucks. I was picking up some soda at the gas station this afternoon and my card was declined, but she ran it again and it went through just fine. I really hope you were able to get some groceries at least.

hi ambiepam I enjoyed mylotting a lot and talking to my friends at
the dinner table, not very exciting but I feel fine and that is alway
good. Oh a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing that sounds so
good but being a diabetic it would probably kill me. he he,.Oh is
that not a great feeling when things go your way at your doctor's.
just thinking how chocolate and peanut butter just seem meant
for each other, a really tasty combination.
Oh and the lights went off for about ten minutes,and as I am
a technophobe I was trembling when I reset my modem and my router.
Whenever theres a stoppage in the lights, I am knocked off the net
so I had to reset the modem

Sounds as if your day was good.
Mine was great as well.
I did some weeding in my garden beds.
I planted my radishes finally.
Did some weeding in my flower beds.
Then I enjoyed the light and sound show from a huge storm that hit here.
The lightening lit the sky up beautifully, and the thunder even shook my floors.
No damage, just lots of rain in a short time frame was all.
All in all, a great day for me.

I had quite a nice day for the most part. In my school we had the graduation for the grade 8s, and as usual all of them looked wonderful and little angels compared to what they normally are LOL.
I had the honour of giving out awards to some students that I really admire and have shown great maturity and responsibility. I also received the biggest hug form one student that is "labeled" as difficult, but that I have been lucky to work with and find that apart from some emotional problems that are understandable, he is actually the opposite of a difficult student.
I also received an email from my sister and those always leave me feeling good - ok maybe not always but for the most part :)
I went to the hairdresser and cut my hair, which left me feeling much more fresh.
So... not all was peachy. My country's team is now out of the world cup, and once I got home, my daughter opened her mouth and made the day less positive, but still I think it wasn't a bad day at all.

Well, my day has just started, so maybe I should talk about yesterday. Hehehe. Yesterday, I was happy, because I was on halfday VL from work, I was in a bookstore all afternoon, which is really one of the happiest places for me. And then, My boyfriend, his son and I went to see Toystory 3, I was laughing and crying, and I think apart from Up, It's the only animated movie that made me cry so hard. 
Next, I was able to eat my favorite popcorn, and drink my favorite Iced tea. Over all, it was a good day for me, well, other than my arm does hurt, because I got my second shot for cervical cancer in the morning, and actually until now it's still hurting.

Yep, this is the 2nd of the 3 shots, the first one hurt so bad, this one is hurting but not as much as the first, and I'm grateful that the third and last one won't be given until November. LOL.

Cancer runs in the family, so the first time I heard that you can actually have a vaccine for one kind of cancer, I immediately took notice, I mean, atleast that's one less kind of cancer worry for me right? Although, I know that my vaccine is only for the two most common HPVs that causes Cervical, and there are a lot more that can cause it.. But I mean, there's really nothing to lose, and I think it's really better to get it, than not to.

Bob and I have been out of town training for new jobs. Before that I was gone most of two weeks on Census. The best part of my day today was to come home to my own house, see my son and my pets.We will leave again Sunday after church. Tell your dad happy birthday from us all. The cake sounds yummy and you are a very thoughtful daughter. Glad your appointment went well, too.

YOu are a very special daughter! We were supposed to go camping all weekend but last night at the campground a very strong storm came up and we came here to my house to sleep....this morning we decided not to go back as it was supposed to rain starting at noon and be strong storms again tonight....so my DIL and granddaughter spent the night and all morning we did crafts and play with play dough etc....and had fast food for lunch....only bad thing was when it was time to leave my little granddaughter had her baby alive with...she says to me...someone's going to cry pretty soon...and I said who is that....she said my baby. I asked why....because she doesn't want to leave her grandma's house....then she began to cry....I felt so bad! But I reminded her I was coming over tomorrow to her house then she was okay...but the rest of the morning just rocked!

Hello Pam. Very good to hear the day went so happy and well for you. I had a nice day too. Every now and then on Fridays, colleagues at my office go out for lunch together. We did that today. It was at a very nice Japanese restaurant. The food was good, the weather was very pleassnt, everybody enjoyed the lunch. That was what I enjoyed for the day.

My day has gone pretty good too..My son and I picked another cup and a half of berries this morning and then we watched a movie after I found out the mower isn't working..(hehehe, didn't feel like cutting today anyways..) We had a very tasteful dinner of beef and noodles with mushroom gravy and green beans..Next, I am going to start Shabbat lessons I am getting on scholarship through this guy who is starting up this business..The lessons are 25.00 a month, but when I told him our finances, he said he will send me lessons for free..
And, I hope that the rest of the evening turns out just as good..

I can see your discussion was written a day ago so you must be referring to Saturday. I had a lovely day, the three of us, me husband and daughter went out looking at op shops and antique stores which is something we love to do except that we can only afford to buy from the op shops and not the antique stores! In the evening we went to my daughters’ ballroom presentation night where she received two medals and had a ball dancing her socks off! It sounds like you did such a beautiful and thoughtful thing for your dad, I bet that cake meant the world to him and it is a gesture he will never forget!

Lately my days are very quiets, I have not done much. I usually wake up at nine o'clock a.m., I have breakfast and watch the world cup soccer games. After I have lunch and sleep a little. After, I watch other soccer game. And in the afternoon, I usually am online on the internet. I like quiet days, but I think Lately my days are too quiet. I hope to change this situation soon.

Well, I guess now it would be Happy Belated Birthday to your dad. That was so cool that you found out about the cake and were able to make one for him for his birthday. I am sure he really did love it as you said his face showed.
My day started out kind of blah. I did not go to bed till late and my brother called and woke me up before 8 am since he gets off work at 7 am. I did go back to sleep for awhile, but I did not really get much sleep. I did have a few friends over tonight and one of them braided my daughters hair for me while the other one played a board game with my son. I was in the kitchen making sugar cookies. It did end up being all in all a pretty good day.

I have only been up for a short time today, so I can't really say anything that is good about my day yet, oh yes I can. I got some money to get my car inspected ( it needs quite a bit of work) from my ex husband that was sweet of him. I also got to go home to work at home yesterday, because of a storm that hit the area thus. night, that was really nice.

Hi AmbiePam, Well belated happy birthday to your day and I think it is tomorrow herenow lol. I am so pleased he was happy with the cake, as you madew it especiallymakes it even more special really doesn't it. Glad it was good news from the docs for you too. I had a normal working day really and theonly thing that made me happy was that the little boyover the road decided he wasn't goingto youth club which meant I didn't have to venture out to give him a lift into towm which is what I usually do, I was so hot and bothered that I just was able to come home and relax for a change. Also there was aprogramme on last night with Martin Shaw oneof my favourite actors so I watched that too, I rarely watch tv so was a treat for me :) Huggles. Ellie :D

I think life is very simple ,There are so many things that can make me feel happy ,I like food ,I think Food can make people have a very good feeling sometime, Such as ,Cake can make me feeling sweet ,Mint flavor make me feel Clear-headed......I like beautiful Flowers,Because flowers are the adornment of life ,let me feel good ......And there are lot of things I am enjoying them .
