We watch countless movies where actors and actresses cry? DO they really cry or just pour some water on their eyes that driples down their eeyelids on to their cheeks.

The majority of times when you watch an actor cry it really is them crying drawing on a sad experience in their life to generate the tears. Although saying that sometimes when an actor can't draw on an experience they will find other ways and there was a famous hollywood actor who would twist a very private area of their body to the point that it caused tears. What some people will do for their art.

Oh, my, they need doctor's advice to go that extreme, but easiest I think of is like someone said, onion, chillie and other food stuff that induce you to cry. On the other hand, there are many actors who cry for real as they put themselves into the life of the characters they play. Thank for your insight into the behind the scenes drama.

Like the other posters have said, it depends on the actor/actress. For the ones that have a difficult time crying naturally for a scene, they do have this stuff to put on their eyes to get them watery to where it looks natural, I think the stuff will make their eyes a little red, too, to make it look more natural. I'm sure there's a way/place on the internet where you can find out if the crying scenes in movies was naturally done by the actor or if they needed help. Unless the actor is just really bad at fake crying, then it tends to seem pretty natural to me and doesn't look fake. I mean, it's all fake because it's a movie, but you know what I mean.

Thank you, I am curious because their acting affected our emotions as we watch their movies. There is a connection between viewer and actor or actoress.

I think that it is true tears because they are required to learn to weep or cry based on the scenario as actors and actresses. Otherwise it does not look real to us viewers. Take care, jak.

It makes me wonder what is real or not? I could imagine that.

Both. It really depends some actors and actesses are able to cry on their own, they really get in to the character and they really feel it and they are able to cry, those are the better ones in my opinion, but if an actor or actress can not cry when the script falls for it they do put something in thier eyes that will produce tears.
