I decided to turn off my email notification here in mylot to give time response all around 1,000 notification in my inbox recently. I want to answer or give comments to all post that I am participated with and also to be fair in all my friends who posted their discussions. My plan is to turn it ON again after I finished this 1,000 notification. Did I make a good decision? I want to your humble idea mylot friends. Please share it to me. Best regards, HULYO

For me it really is up to you because it is your email and it is your account after all. but to my opinion, having notifications is fun coz you get to have plenty of mails in your inbox! heheheheh!

i don't think this is a good decision. once you turn them off, you won't a lot of them. and when you are able to finish those 1,000 notifications, you will find that you missed too much. i also got a lot of them, still clogging my inbox, but i keep them on so everything will come in and i still have a lot of topics to read and choose whether to response or not before deleting them.

Even with your email notifications off how are you going to go to work and also do all these, you will be worn out and then what.I think its very admirable that you want to do this and hope you will not overdo this. I wish you had someone to help you. I am fighting low blood sugar while I am trying to catch up' to the ones I have backed up. good luck and God bless,if you cannot get all of them done I am sure all us mylotters will understand. We' have all had things back up on us,

Hi Julyteen, Receiving 1000 notification is a lot. for my one almost one year of being a member of mylot i haven't receive such kind of bulk notification. anyways, it's your call if you want to turn it off or maintain it being ON. just manage responding on your friends discussion...prioritize your interests. good luck friend!

Sounds as if you are doing the right thing. I would if i were you. But you could also keep it on and only respond to those that really need a response until you get them under control again. When I make a comment, I don't always look for a response from the dicussioner because I don't know how busy their schedule is. I don't think everyone would be mad at you. I wouldn't be.

Why bother turning it off if you would like to respond to all discussions anyway. I also have the same issue but mine did not reach a thousand. Just over a hundred. So, I started working my way back from the very first notification that I haven't responded yet. Going through it, you would get a feel on which discussions are not worth responding to. And you could delete all those emails from the same user from your inbox. Anyway, since you've already turned it off. Goodluck! I hope you don't let it reach a thousand again.

Hi julyteen I think you made a good decision. Since I'm new I don't get to many but I can see how it could be overwhelming. Besides if you check mylot regularly I don't think you need to check the emails.

Seems like a good decision, it's really important to pay attention to those who are helping you.
