Do you have a bedtime snack and does it help you sleep better?

I like to have a little something after supper. Lately I have been hung up on Trail mix. I love the sweet and salty taste. I eat supper early and a light snack helps me make it through the night without waking up wanting something to eat. How about you...do you have a favorite night time snack? Or don't you have one at all?

I normally don't like to eat right before bed. Don't know why just never have. I didn't even do it with my first pregnancy. However im expecting right now and if i dont eat i cant sleep first off. Second off i have to eat something light then take my vitamins right before bed. IF i dont go to bed after taking my vitamins i will throw them up. If i dont eat before taking my vitamins i will throw up. So basically i have to do this every night for the remainder of my pregnancy in order to insure i take those dorn nasty tasting vitamins. Yuck!

I always hated those darn prenatal vitamins! Are you still in the first trimester? That could explain the nausia after taking the vitamin. Don't know many women who were able to keep that vitamin down during their first trimester.

Im actually in the second trimester but i stopped taking the vitamins in my first trimester due to them making me sick. Now i am trying to insure i get enough iron so i dont get anemic considering it runs in my family.

Good morning Jill, i try not to eat anything aftersupper but if i do it's usually fruit or something not fatting if i'm smart. I have really been enjoying watermelon. Monday my neighbor bought me half of one & yesterday my other neighbor brought me a big ol' piece. They are keeping me supplied this week.lol.

I try really hard not to snack between or after meals, but it is hard not to sometimes. We also have an early dinner, and I tend to stay up late watching TV. TV makes me want to snack, because there are always food commercials or people on TV eating. I will grab myself a snack if I need to, and it depends on what I'm in the mood for and what we have in the house. Lately I've been hung up on whole wheat toast with jelly on it.. yum!

A slice of toast with peanut butter once in a while is good too....I know they say when you get tired you get hungry because your body is struggling to find something for more energy...but if I don't have a little something I wake up in the middle of the night hungry! lOL

I do peanut butter sometimes too, though typically it would be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (I crave sweets something fierce like all the time!). As I said, it depends what I'm in the mood far. Aside from sweets I've lately been craving 3 main things (though not necessarily together..) peanut butter, eggs, and mushrooms.

Hi jillhill! My husband and I have a habit of having a midnight snack everyday (no wonder a gained weight). We don't really have a particular favorite but usually, we go out to a 24 hour restaurant or cook noodles or buy some hamburgers..hehehe..

Well I try not too..... But just now I nibbled on some nuts and there is one chocolate in the fridge that is just yelling to be eaten, Well, I wouldn't want my daughter to put on weight so as I've had not many carbs then I will do her a favour by eating it. I am decided. Yes, I just help my daughter to remain slim s I will be a god mother by eating it.

No, I don't eat a bedtime snack at all. I try not to eat after 9pm at night. I do have a cup of tea just before bed though. I heard that it is best to eat a bowl of cereal as a bedtime snack, as that is fibre and fills you up well.

I typically have something to eat later in the evening, but it is always something different. I really should not eat late at night since I have acid reflux really bad, but I have gotten spoiled with the Prilosec I have been taking and no longer have the reflux problem.

Bedtime time snack never helped me have better sleep.Instead it makes me feel carrying a weight inside my stomach and makes it a little burdensome in addition to being not sleepy at bed time. But i observed having a cup of milk help me have good platform for a nice smooth sail in to sleep.

YEAH!!I always like to eat something before bed. But I never think about this question before. lol. SOME PEOPLE HERE SAID IF YOU EAT TOO MUCH IN THE NIGHT,IT WILL DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO SLEEP. TO SOME DEGREE, I AGREE WITH THIS IDEA.

There is always bedtime snack for everyone at my house. It is a nightly ritual. We have many arguments about what to eat. I'm not sure it does anything for better sleep, but it makes us happier. One thing i have realized is if I eat chocolate before bed, I dream more at night. My favorite bedtime snack is a big bowl of ice cream. My children are more into their chips. We all like to have something different.

Hi,there I used to take some before sleep around 11:30p.m when I stayed in campus 2 years ago,I can not remember whether it could help me get a sound sleep ,I just often feel starved at night in my student period. Now,I'b like to take a cup of hit milk even it's summer now,I still insist hot cup,as well as some fruit, that's all. But,neither can I realize it has highlight power to make me sleep better

I used to have a snack before I go to bed but I decided to go on a diet a few days ago so I always restrain myself from getting something to eat before going to bed. Its hard for me do restrain but I always told myself I will be able to do it.

Usually I don't do it, my body is used to not eating at night, so I don't wake up hungry or anything anyway. But sometimes (pretty rarely) I feel in the mood for something small late at night, and then I have it.

I love trailmix too but don't eat it very often. Watch my salt intake which is rather boring but do it anyway. Don't have a steady night time snack. Once in awhile I will eat ice cream with chocolate sauce, a few M & M's or just a Pepsi. Generally depends on how late we ate dinner. After a late dinner I will drink water and that holds me all night.

No i do not need to have a midnight snacks before going to bed. It would be really hard to go to bed with an empty stomach but its not good to have it really full as well. i think whatever i ate for dinner should suffice when i go to bed not hungry and i am able to sleep through hunger especially if i drank water to compensate for the empty feeling in my tummy.

I love eating a little something after dinner time. My bedtime snack is whatever that is sweet and also is in the fridge. Currently it is a slice of cheesecake. It's probably not too healthy and helping me put on the pounds but I love something sweet before I go to bed. Maybe after I finish up the cheesecake, I can try eating some apples after dinner instead.

At night it seems like I'm always snacking so right before I go to bed, I have to eat something. Using I have yogurt before going to bed. I've reasoned that its a healthier snack than having a cookie or chocolate bar right before going to sleep so I don't feel to bad about it. lol.

I do.I just eat whatever is left from supper. Sometimes i even eat the same amount i had during dinner time.but if i don't find anything i just forget about it and close my eyes.it takes time though to stop thinking about it.
