Yesterday while at work, some one calling my cellphone. There was an unfamiliar number, and I picked it up. Someone was looking for "Roy", which I don't know who. I told him you probably called a wrong number. After 20 some minutes, the same number called again, and I simply tell him, please stop, I already told you once. He just keep on calling and calling which irritated me. I told him, sir, you shouldn't call again, that is my 10th time to tell you there is no "roy" registered with this number. Gosh, is that so hard to understand?

It is not hard to understand at all but I think the person calling you so many times and still insisting on what he gets as a response then I think he also wants to talk to you probably, I would get obviously angry at someone like this.

Some people will never listen, just do not answer their calls.

I have had people call me like that looking for someone, but when I tell them there is no such person at this number, then they will apologize and not call again, and I am thankful for that. That would sure annoy me to have someone keep calling over and over, especially when they have already been told there is no one here at this number. I dont understand why people just won't listen when you tell them something. It sounds like a stalker to me, or someone trying to get information. At least you are handling it the right way. All you can do is just not answer it when you see the number come up. That is what I would do. Take care, and happy mylotting.

Perhaps he is a guy who knows you and just wanted to talk with you.Or he did it just for fun.You can warn him that if he calls again you will call the police. And if he does not listen to you,you can call the police to track his number and find out where the call comes from, then let the police warn him.

This could be a guy who has got a crush on you found the number from somewhere and is trying to start a conversation with you.

I am sure that won't be a case. No one would have a crush on me and do something silly like this.

Hi Kingparker, Well I could see it happening a couple of times but ten is just ridiculous. Obviously he either has been given the wrong number or the number he is dialing is very close to your number in which case he needs to be more careful in dialing. Maybe you should just pretend to be Roy the next time he calls. Have some fun with it.

I think it's someone you know trying to play a prank on you cos if the same person is calling 10 times, I don't think it's by mistake. Just try to play with that guy if he calls again. Talk to him as if you are 'Roy' and try to waste his time. I know your time also is valuable, but you can do it once without causing any damage. If he still causes trouble, save the number as Roy and cut the call when you get it again. Or better yet, report this matter to your cellphone service provider who might help you block that number from calling you. bourne

I get strange calls from people I dont know on my cellphone all the time but most of the time its not the same person back to back, some people just cant take a hint goodness I think the cellphone companys get a little slopy with giving numbers to new customers and maybe it could be that this person who called you dosent want to face the fact that they have the wrong number.

Yeah, I understand. It makes sense if they call two or three times, as they think they typed the wrong number in and try the same number again. But after at most three times, they should get the idea that maybe they have the wrong number? It happened to my mom before, and the person ended up calling over six times. It's so annoying!!! And don't you think they would be embarassed enough to look up the phone number again to make sure?

He may be slow with difficulty in understanding. Or, as other posters have stated he may be doing it on purpose to bug you. Whatever the reason, it is unpleasant to get so many wrong number calls! My wrong numbers do not call back. I always ask them if they are interested in purchasing Avon products! lol. Always hopeful to pick up a new customer! Maybe you should try selling him something and he will stop.

Well this same thing happens with me also so many times but sometimes it happens that the person really want to talk to someone else and thought it connecting to wrong number. So may be they keep on doing calls again and again in this thought may be this time this number is connecting to wrong but sometimes can connect to right person also.

Ive had a similar experience. These people just keep calling and calling just to bug you. Most of them are prank calling, irresponsible children who are calling you to annoy you.
