I love pasta all year around but the way I eat it changes in every aeason. In Summer I like cold pasta very much, but I never have cold pasta in Winter. Do you like cold pasta dishes? Do you eat them all year around or just in Summer, as I do? Which is your favorite way? I like them with fresh veggies, a little vinegar and mushrooms, olives and goat´s cheese. Raw sweet pepper (peeled) and cocktail tomatoes add a touch of colour to them. Share your preferred recipe.

One often hears the phrase that hot food is important. We tend to believe that cold foods are decent meal, but a mere substitute for a warm breakfast, lunch or dinner. But it is a mistake.Soundly prepared cold food such as fruit, vegetable or pasta salad with chicken or fish meat, sandwiches, toast, cold fruit soups, beans, vegetable or meat stew, cold pita bread with vegetables and meat or cheese sandwiches to be.

I heard that in my youth too, but then, when my children were born, the pedriatrician told me I should never give them food warmer than 37º C and that they did not need any salt at all in their soups. I started to think that if bebies should not eat hot dishes, then we adults shouldn´t either. Later, much later, I discovered that I had to give up some of the salt I put on my dishes as a helth measure. So it seems that, after all, we should go back to baby food. Not ice cold, but not hot; a lot of veggies; not too much salt.

I use a bit of salt, of course. But vegetables have some salt in them too. I never add salt to vegetables when cooking. They have a better flavour and colour.

Body a certain amount of salt to your operation needs. A small amount of salt is even a stimulating effect. Dish with salt very lightly and taste better fresh or refine dried herbs.

They are easy to make. And you can make it even easier if you bou those frozen assorted veggies, boil them and add them to the cold pasta.

I love pasta, but they aren't on my diet... My roommate makes a to die for pasta and tuna salad... (mayo) A friend will boil up pasta and add Italian salad dressing, I'll eat that I'll eat pasta with blue cheese salad dressing... I eat it hot or cold, but I'm really trying to not eat it as much as I would like to

Oh, I eat carbs, but a half cup of pasta just doesn't make a very filling salad...

I love making cold pasta! I always have since I was a tween because it was something different than the usual menu my mother would serve up. I usually like the same things in my pasta salad it's got a variable to it from time to time depending on what I have on hand. Usually, mayo, pasta, peas, celery....w/ either:immitation crab, left over chicken, tuna, or shrimp.

Plus I didn't care for my Mother's cooking half the time it was usually what she liked not what I liked. Sometimes for a splash of color I like to shred some carrots too. Really just whatever veggies you have on hand and see what works for you.

My mother never made cold pasta either. But then, my mother´s cooking was very traditional. I learned to eat some veggies after I left home. I have never used celery there, but I will try it. I love to try new aditions to the food I make and to make dishes I have never done.

Hi, marguicha. I love cold pasta. I don't make it. But I will buy it pre made from the grocery store. That is, if it tastes good. My aunt's normally make this when we are having a cook out. I love cold pastas especially during the summer time. I don't really eat it during the winter. I think that I make more hot pastas during this season more. My favorites are tuna or chicken pasta salad.

I also prefer cold pastas in Summer. And they are a good side dish to a barbecue if you make it with veggies and put the barbecued meat on the side.

sORRY U are feeling bad. Sore throats are not good company.Do u ever gargle w/hot salt water, that always helps mine. How cold is it there. It has been miserably hot here. I could stand a little cold. Is olive oil not expensive there. It is terrible here. It's alot cheaper to buy the italian dressing than it would be to make it w/the olive oil. thanks, i have lost 25 lbs. & i'm proud of that. I thought it might help my back to feel better. I am having a terrible time w/it. u take care & feel better. hugs.

Hi Jo, I love italian dressing, but I make my own as for me it is a lot cheaper. I use olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper and lots of ground dry oregano (from my own garden). I like cold pasta with olives instead of pickles although I do like potato salad with dill pickles (diced vey small). You are behaving very well with your diet. Cheers for you. Today I´ll make soups for me. I am not feeling well. I have a sore throat, I suppose because of the cold. I never had colds when I smoked. The only thing that was a little worse was a morning cough. As for the rest, ciggies were better than quitting. (Don´t tell anyone) A big HUG!!!

Uhmmm...That sounds delicious! I have never made a cold pasta dish although I do cook a lot of pasta at our house because I love the stuff! I like the cold pasta salads that you can buy from the supermarket but I’ve never attempted to make one. That is something I may just have a go at, although I may focus on soups for the time being because it is freezing here at the moment!

It´s freezing here too. I made that post for our friends that are in Summer. Right now, the only thing I love are soups, stews and casseroles. But in Summer, gazpachos (cold soup) and cold pasta are a must. I try to spend little and eat well so I cood from scratch. Cold pasta is easy to make and you can add some cooked frozen veggies. It´s easier and cheaper than if you buy it already made. I also make my own dressing (easy and unexpensive). But right now, I´m making broths out of anything that I see in the kitchen, throw in any veggies that are around and they go to the blender with a little milk or cream. Some grated cheese adds to the wonder. I also make clear broths (chicken) and put them in mugs to bring to the computer. They are a sort of heater and stay warm longer than coffee. I´m dreaming with the Caribbean.

Coriander leaves and fresh basil plus some chives give a touch of class to cold pasta

I do eat cold pasta a lot and I do eat it all year round. I don't believe that cold foods should be reserved for summer so I have cold pasta with different salad ingredients all the year round. One of my favorites is to add some tinned fish like tuna or makerel to the pasta with a little mayo or slald dressing. I find it a very satisfying lunch.

I beauty, I like cold pasta except when it´s freezing. I live in Chile and we are having a very cold Winter. So cold dishes are out for me. And as much as I love a gazpacho 9 out of the 12 months of the year, now I need broths, stews and legumes. I always put some veggies to my cold pasta. Corn, peas, sweet pimientos and olives make it look so beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

I love to eat cold pasta dishes in the summer, as an extra on a salad it is delicious. I like pasta with tuna and mayonnaise mixed in with it, sometimes I add salad cream aswell, just to keep it most. But I also enjoy chicken in pasta or prawns, with a little sauce to keep it all moist, otherwise pasta can dry out very easily.

I usually moist them with a homemade italian dressing. Olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper and crushed dry oregano leaves.
