What is the best way to set up an ecommerce store?

What is the best way to set up an ecommerce store? Ecoomerce allow you to sell things on your site and provide a secure a secure environment for people to pay. I have used Cafe Press and paypal but Im not sure they provide enough flexibility to help me sell personal items that I create. Im looking for the best way to sell my items and keep a strong personal business information site. Anybody have good ideas?

There are already many giant e-commerce stores online. I do not think it is easy to compete against Amazon and Ebay. However, specialty products have a different place. If you make art and craft then etsy is the best place. However, if you know how to make graphics you can come up with an innovative idea to sell them online. I heard about this one guy who sold pixels and became rich.

I have a site set up on Ning where I have my own social networking site. Do you know anything about that. The Ning site has good apps and features and also others to make sites on your site. But can I set up a good ecommerce site on Ning?

Wow, it is really good that you already have a social networking site. Yes, it is possible to set up an e-commerce store at it. But you have to make sure that the features are such that people find it attractive and really embark on using it. Are you in computer science? Did you have to invest a lot of money to start the site?

You can try and host a wordpress blog. The wordpress script is free and you only need a webhost and a domain.
After that, you can get a wordpress addon which lets you make your own online shop for free!
