...he was interviewed when he beat our Andrew Murray in the Wimbledon Semi-Final and I must say, I love him even more now. Said something about it being one of his greatest wins, that Murray was hard to beat, that kind of thing. I really, REALLY want him to win the Final on Sunday. It just wasn't the same without him last year. No fabulous physique to drool over for a start! He can put his feet up tomorrow and watch his beloved Spain - hopefully, beat Paraguay in the World Cup! What do you think about Raffa? Do you think he is a better role model than Federer or, like me, do you reckon they're even in that regard?

I would really like to see him win again. He is such a specialist in the volleys and serves. and yes he seems to be a really modest man. He was so sympathetic to our andy and although it would have been brilliant to have a British champion this year, I dont think andy did badly in his match, its just that Rafa is the number one and there is no shame in being beaten by him. I can't wait until Sunday

Doh... for got to answer your original question about Ferderer and Nadal. I have always been a great supporter of Fed, but he seems to be going off the 'boil' with his tennis. Remember he nearly got knocked out in the first round ? He also seemed, going by his newspaper report comments, to take losing very very badly. Which is understandable, but the press, bless em, take great joy in knocking someone like him, when they're down. In the past I always thought Raf was a sulky spaniard, but he's not , he's just totally wrapped up, involved and concentrating on his game.

Did you get to see the match, didnt Raf play brilliantly, and champion again, bless him. He deserves it.

I feel sorry for Federer. He went on about not feeling right and his back playing up and the press seem to think that he's using excuses for his defeat. Far from it; he's just being honest in my opinion..and it proves he is human too. As for Nadal; he will be on a high after Spain getting through to the semis in the World Cup so I can't see him losing the Final at Wimbledon somehow.

Yes, he is an intense player and character, but seems to have the right words at the press conference. I think he is a genuine gentleman and ATP are blessed to have Federer and Nadal at the top of their charts with Murray in the mix who all are very nice modest characters. Cheers! Ram

I agree with you totally. A few years ago I didn't really like Roddick, for some reason he got on my nerves..but after his Final against Federer at Wimbledon last year I warmed to him and loads more Brits did too..so that's 4 players I now adore that include Roddick, Federer, Murray and Nadal. Not a bad quartet that is it? They should play doubles!!

Wow!! If they play doubles, they will deny our favorite doubles player Paes from carrying on winning at Wimbledon :) Cheers! Ram

From what I have seen of Rafa, and I'm no Tennis buff, I think he packs in a tremendous mix of energy and on-court aggression which is a treat to watch. As an opponent, I find him to be the perfect foil to Federer who casts a placid and mellowly figure while playing, and watching these two greats face off makes for a visual feast. I hardly watching anything else whenever I find the two playing against each other.

Yes, they are contrasting players aren't they? Each have their own attributes which makes them fascinating to watch. It's a shame Federer got knocked out of Wimbledon..ironically by the guy who will play Nadal in the Final tomorrow...so I'm gunning for Nadal now. He is such a joy to watch and an inspiration to the young who may want to take up the sport in future.

It's nice to know that Rafael Nadal is a modest man. I like him because of the way he plays and, yes, because I drool over him too, but I really have not heard him talk or being interviewed. And well, to be honest, I cannot compare him with Roger Federer. I do not drool over Roger Federer. Sorry, Janey, I really do not know much about these tennis players. I just could not help responding because I like Nadal Have a nice day!

Well, if I had to choose which one I'd like to wake up to every morning it would have to be Nadal. Having arms like that wrapped around me would be a great start to the day!

Hello, Janey. Yes, I thought he conducted himself very well after the game - and what a great game it was, worthy of the final. I think the score was unfair to Murray, though. He only made one error in the first set, and Nadal capitalised on it. He didn't play so well in the second, but he started well in the third. I'm sure Murray will win Wimbledon soon - he's improved a lot in the last year. And I agree with you about Nadal's physique. There should be a law against having such firm bum cheeks! Mind you, murray's got a nice body on him as well. I didn't know whether to watch the ball or the biceps!

Hiya Sandra! Spain is definitely the place to be at the moment seeing as they beat Paraguay. Excellent! I agree with you totally about Murray. He is such a different player from about 2 years ago, it shows how dedicated he is and how gutted he was at losing against Nadal. I did feel sorry for him at his Press Conference after his defeat. Having said that, Nadal is so awesome (and humble with it) that you can't help wanting him to win at times. I didn't want him to beat Murray for obvious reasons but when he did I couldn't help smiling at how much it all meant to him and the fact that Murray actually gave him a game..which is more than can be said for Henman (even though I love him dearly) but you know what I mean..the game has moved on. I only hope Nadal wins tomorrow, it would be brilliant for him..and Spain.

I agree he gave a lovely interview after the match and was very kind about Murrey. As a Brit, obviously I would have liked Murrey to win, but Nadal is my favourite player.

I don't know what it is about Nadal. I wasn't even sad that he beat Murray..even though I wanted Murray to win. You can't help like Nadal for who he is and what he represents..a major ambassador for the sport, rather like Federer. It's unheard of me liking so many tennis players. For example, I couldn't get to grips with Borg. I was only a young girl at the time and I couldn't stand him because he rarely showed any emotion. I think that's why I like Nadal so much. When he punches the air after a win it makes me smile because I know it means so much to him.

i really do think that he do deserve to win this coming sunday. i was so upset that he wasn't able to defend this title last year. i hope this year would be his. for me, federer and him are both good role models. they showed the world to stand after a hard fall. and being humble in what you do is what people appreciate alot.

It's so unusual for players to be so humble..I mean, remember McEnroe and Borg all those years ago? They hated one another! I really do think that Nadal and Federer have respect for one another as they realise that they both contribute to kids wanting to start playing tennis...in different ways. Federer is the calm, natural player whereas Nadal has the power and the looks (although Federer is lovely in his own right, he oozes charm and sophistication) and that's what is so fascinating. Such a shame that Federer got knocked out at Wimbledon but I can cheer Nadal on now without feeling guilty!

Don't get me wrong, I think Murray has improved leaps and bounds over the last couple of years and the poor guy was gutted he didn't beat Nadal...but Nadal is a Class Act and was my favourite to win Wimbledon from the start. I was also gutted when Federer was knocked out as I love him too...and of course the guy who beat him will play Nadal in the Final. Normally I go for the underdog..but not this time! Like I said in the tags, COME ON RAFFA!
