On the eve of the 4th of July, it's sad to see news resources are still wasted on people like, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. The people who fought to give us liberty, didn't do so with the hopes of leaving the country to a people concerned with the goings on of self proclaimed "important" people. Paris Hilton finds herself in the news in another country, South Africa, once again embarassing herself, and Americans. Lindsay Lohan has also been in the news in this country after a night of celebrating her birthday. Let's refrain from listening, viewing, and caring about these people who offer nothing to the betterment of themselves or the world. Surely, there's better things and people to care about.

i so agree with you. i'm so sick of these young women thinking they can get away with anything because they're famous and with money. i don't even think lindsay lohan has apologized for her deplorable behavior. people should really start ignoring them because they more they know they're watched and people give a hoot about their actions the more they crave attention and demand attention, it' negative reinforcement.

Yes these young women know they're famous for partying and bad behavior and they'll continue to do that to stay in the news. Hopefully they'll grow up soon.

vmenard hi y ou and me both;Iam so glad to see someone who is not raving over these silly celebs that do not help anyone in the world but themselves.I wish all people would feel the same way and care'more'about the people who do care about other people and do try to help humanity. How about the tireless doctors and nurses in the hospitals across the U S or the firemen who work to ' try to save our homes.Or the police officers who help you out when your car stalls in traffic. these are the people who are more likely to be real heroes and people to look up to. How about the paramedics who picked up a frightened elderly lady, namely me,who had had a bad fall and broke her shoulder badly. I was a heavy lady and in a lot of pain and they got me on that stretcher like I weighed only a feather. they soothed me til I got to the hospital and received medical help. to me those are the people to look up to not dumb twits like Paris hilton, and Linday Lohan.

Sorry to hear about your fall. Yes all the people named in your response are all more deserving of recognition and publicity for all the good they do.

Hear hear. I read an article about the WAGS in South Africa and honestly, it made me sick. Since when did we start treating empty-headed Essex girls with Estuary accents like they were actually worth anything? Since the white stillettos went and created Heat, Hello and Closer magazine, and stuck E! and Big Brother on telly, that's when. Chick flicks and chick lit - since when did I even care?

Society has created celebrities out of these reality personalities. It's sad that these people make the news.
