They often are for me. I try not to make snap judgements about people, but I normally have a feel for something that is wrong. Usually I am proven right. it! I'm not talking about appearance standards. Thinking more about honesty/ deviousness etc. Lord knows how one can detect that so quickly, but I obviously have antennae for

It depends on how impressive the first impression is . If you keep on seeing a person, the first impression will no longer be significant. Because your impression will be overwritten by what's his or her current behaviour. In some cases, if you only see a person once or twice in a life time, you won't even remember his or her name, let alone the first impression.

hi ling, I agree that first impression is more of a lasting type because this gives a person a presumption on what he actually see and can respond for based mostly on the over all physical attributes he can see. Some people do rely on the statement that " first impression last" it means, whatever impression seen carry a personality to what he sees. But, other believe that first impressions are said to be a tricky one, for some people do have good impressions but their real character they have gotten to know do not exemplify to what they see. Impression for other people has a great value for them, especially those working in marketing and business field that represents their services or products as their commanding rule in terms of their relation to customerrs in order to increase sales and the product credibility. Impression is the initial stage of any person to know and have an idea of the person they meet or wanted to be engaged with. This is one of the guiding tool to directly have an instant knowledge over the person but be reminded that it does not an assurance of the person totality. For their are people who have good impression but the character is disgusting, and some do not have that good impression at first but in the latter part knowing the person, tend to have a good heart at all contradicting to what your first impression was. First impression can stick out a lot, depending on what end of the spectrum it is. In fact, the really good first impression and the really bad first impressions are something that really can stick out a lot of the time. If the first impression is average, then it might not be the thing that we think about a lot of the time. However, first impressions are rather important, as we tend to form an opinion on a person granted on that. However, first impressions might not be completely accurate. We just barely know the person. Therefore, we might think we see something, but the person is really another way. With that fact in mind, first impressions are important, as you really do want to get off on the right foot, to get to know the person. Otherwise, you have a rather shaky foundation to stand on and that can be a bit of a problem.

Usually, but i have often changed my mind about people when i get to know them. Especially people i have worked with.
