that happened to my old laptop. it completely crashed. my uncle tried to fix it, but even he, who i consider my computer-genius-tech-support- couldn't fix it. he said that my laptop would be good for nothing if i continue to use it. because the virus would just corrupt my laptop every time i use it. so it got slower and slower that every time i use it, i would just get frustrated with it. so i stopped using it. my dad had it fixed though. i don't know how, but the guy who fixed it had it with him for more than a month.

Hi neleene, Trojan is a kind of malware containing remote execution code which can effectively hide itself, make use of existing unpatched or unknown vulnerabilities to open ports and communicates with a server or a client(in case of reverse connection models) situated somewhere else on internet. The trojan hides itself and collects informations from your computer and send it to somewhere else it is intended to. Some trojans do the work of spamming over web using your network bandwidth which inturn sometimes leads to blacklisting of your IP address. Better way to prevent Trojans from entering your computer is to maintain a secure Firewall application running whenever you are connected to web. Windows by default had a built-in firewall but you had an option to install any third party one if you wish to. Also install a stable and good antivirus program. Microsoft's recent approach in antimalware appplications- Microsoft Security Essentials is a great tool in detecting malwares and dangerous scripts. It can be freely downloaded from Microsoft official website for Original Windows customers. Another good one is ESET's NOD32 Antivirus. Both these are very effective in scanninng and are lightweight with consuming much less system resources. NOD32 is not free, but you can download a 40 day trial from their official site before planning to make a purchase or not. -Jithin :)

the best thing you could do to protect your pc from viruses is to buy and install a known Antivirus software such as Norton. I really dont know what brand but i think that it would be the best idea to buy a well known or well reviewed software .

hmmmm, i should consider that...licensed antivirus programs are much higher than pirated ones when it comes to total protection to the pc..thanks.
