If you feeling depressed, you might feel better if you take fish oil supplements, a new study shows. some patients in the study, but not all,got relief from the omega 3 fatty acids in the fish oil. The ones who did improve- about half the group- were those who didn't also have a diagnosis of an anxiety disorder. These findings, published in the journal of Clinical Psychiatry. According to the researchers involved in the current study, some of the strongest evidence of benefit has come from supplements rich in EPA- which, along with DHA, is one of the two main forms of omega-3 fat( EPA stands for eicosapentaenoic acid, and DHA stands for docosahexaenoic acid. My friends, I'm just sharing the report of the study with you. I'm not at all an expert. I think depressed people might get help and they can go through the details.

One brand that sells such oils is Nutrilite Salmon Omega. It is good to take those capsules along with regular medicines prescribed by a psychiatrist.Along with taking these medicines, doing jacobson's progressive relaxation exercises for 20 min daily gives excellent results.

I've tried those along with many other things so I can't really tell if it will work just by taking it alone. And anyway it's not really a new study, its been around for some years now. But thanks for the info, I'm sure some people haven't heard of that before. There is also chamomile tea to calm the senses. And St. johns worth(whatever that is). But I think the best that worked for me was 5-htp.
