hazard pay for seamen passing dangerous waters

Just read an article on the net that seamen passing through dangerous waters like somalia are being high like double their hazard pay. Any idea how much is the hazard pay of seamen? I heard from a friend that this can reach millions.

yes i have some friends that work in a chemical tanker and he says that the hazard pay is really high but i highly doubt it can reach millions. maybe in a couple of months.
and i dont really want to be hostaged by pirates. i have seen the number of philippine seamen that is attacked and has been a hostage by those pirates.

I believe they deserve that hazard pay.
It is really very dangerous for seamen to pass through Somalia in the Port of Aden.

I don't know, sorry. I guess these things are confidential since it deals with one's pay. It could be dangerous to divulge this information to someone you don't know so they would be extremely quiet.
