How did you react with your first star?

I'm talking about the star with the number located on the left side of our username or rightly called "mylot reputation". There is a requirement before we can have that star, and that is to reach the 100 posts(user rating) first. Our primary star will be based on the first 100 posts that we have done. I'm still on the way for my first star and I can say I'm excited but nervous at the same time. Lol! How about you, how did you react with your first star? Were you been satisfied with it or you felt a little bit disappointed? I would be glad to know your answer. Have a nice day! :)

Honestly, i did no have any idea what it meant, so i ignored it. But when i got to 200 and saw i can use emoticons, i reacted like a freaking 5 year old. A sight you do not want to see. TATA.

First of all, I would like to say that having the ability to fly is really an advantage, you can go to your destination faster. Look at you, you are like a lightning which landed here in my discussion very quick. Lol! Well, yah, I guess there are many people like you, doesn't know first what the star with number and color means. But the second milestone is really a lot better, the 200 mark, where you can then be able to use emoticons. I'm still far with that and I am so envy of you right now. Lol! How I wished I saw your reaction when you have reached it. It's funny I guess. Anyway, thank you for your immediate response and have a great day! :)

Hi Harold, At first I felt so excited what was the meaning of the star and I tried even harder to find out what will be my next star. And so I finally realized that it get something about the performance and activities we had here in mylot. After that whenever I gets down from my star rating I feel a bit upset before but now it just normal and happy enough to have whatever It is. Happy myLotting.

@wickedspies I think it has nothing to do being ambitious here what's the rating is not all what we decide its automatically appear after each hundred activities so whether we like the star we had we can't do nothing about it.We have to accept whatever they think its worth to each and everyone of us. Thanks!!

Hi miss c! Yah, I am also feeling the same now, excited. You said that you have also experienced having your star rating went down but overall, it concluded that you are really a great person and it reflected on your star rating right now. That's really a good achievement. I have seen your discussions and I can really say that you really deserve it. Just keep it up and always take care of yourself. Thank you for your response and happy myLotting! :)

Hi, Harold_ks. I reacted with happiness. I was glad that I had accomplished a star. It was a 10. I have not had this rating for two years now. I have been an 9 for the longest. I feel that I should have an rating of 10. But other mylotters may not feel the same way. Good luck on reaching your 100th post! Enjoy your star when you receive it!

Hi cream! Wow, it can really mean happiness! That was really a great start! Well, I'm sure you will regain again soon the star that you really deserve and stay for good. :) Thank you for wishing me luck, I will also be very happy if I will get the same as yours. Thank you for your response and have a great day!

I think you deserve a 10 as well +'s for you . I think most people do though. The rating system is a little crazy though. People are more likely to rate you - than they are to rate you + unless you say some really awesome stuff.

actually, i didn't know about those stars, until mine said 4. i didn't really notice it. i didn't really read all the guidelines and faqs. i just read them when i need to know something. i just came across a discussion about those stars, so i decided to check out mine. so i never even saw my first star.

That was a challenging first star. But perhaps you have really been challenged and you really did a good job to be able to climb up from 4 to 8. That's really a great achievement of yours. Keep up the good work! Thank you for your response and have a nice day!

I want a hot pink star, or lime green. Wish it was customizable, except the number of course I didn't even realize I had emoticons until like 10 mins ago hehe.

At least your wish was been granted now, your star is already red. Good job! Oh, you was been resourceful and it brought a good result. It's good that you were already able to use emoticons. And I have just noticed that you are almost there in the next milestone, the 500 user rating, You will soon be able to use the copy and paste function. That's really nice and congratulations in advance. Thank you for your response and have a nice day!

I will definitely be happy if I get a star. I am pleased to be able to reach 100 points and get a star, there is no reason for disappointment, I certainly would be very happy. I'm still new, so there's still a very long time to reach 100 points. I want to immediately get a star, so I'll keep trying as soon as possible,

Well make sure you post quality responses and always respond to responders on discussions. A discussion can only be a good discussion if you talk back Then people will press your + button more often and you'll be the most popular kid on mylot

Hello Harold, I was overwhelmed with my first star with a 9 in it. I started a discussion too to share my happiness without knowing the fact that kind of discussions are against guidelines. In that discussion many people congratulated me and explained the importance of star etc. My inspired me much to do more posts in mylot. Still I can feel that happiness by remembering about my first star.

You are also nearing to get a star soon. I hope you too get a higher star in the beginning itself. Fortunately my topic also escaped from the censor board.

Hi Sreekala! That was really great, having 9 as your first star is really overwhelming. But as I see yours now, wow, you even managed to upgrade it to the highest star. That's really a good job! Well, yah I have also read in the guidelines that topic about a milestone is prohibited. But I guess this topic of mine is safe, hopefully! :) Well, yah those benefits or let me say added flavors really make our stay here in myLot more exciting and it will motivate us and strive to post more and keep active. Thank you for your response and have a nice day!

Your star number isn't all that great and neither is mine. I really don't care what my star number is anymore but in the beginning when I signed up here I cared and I tried so hard to earn a big number. I did it and earned a 10 star but not for long. I didn't participate in mylot for about 4 months and my star number dropped drastically. Now it has taken me about 4 years to work it back up again but it really doesn't matter what the number is, it doesn't change how much you earn or how many people respond to you. So now I don't really care what the number is.

It does affect our earnings. We are told in the FAQs that it is factored into the aglorithm. We also know for certain, those of us who have been there, that a lower star causes lower earnings than a higher star would for the same activity.

I, much like you, was excited yet nervous as to what color star I'd have at that magic moment!!! To make my day even more exciting, I received my first Best Response at almost the identical moment I received my star!!! I was more than thrilled to see that my star was the lovely Blue 10!!! So, I received a top rating & a BR within moments of each other!!! The ONLY thing that compared to getting my star was the day that I received the ability to use the emotes!!!

NO, I started with a 96/100. 90/100 would be a Red Star. I had worked hard when I first started here & made a lot of GREAT friends!!! I like to think a lot of people + (plussed) my comments & discussions!!! I know I NEVER respond to s discussion or comment to a response that I don't hit either the + or -button out of respect for the member. I don't care if they have only 1 post or if they have accumulated 1,000 posts, I still give a + or - depending on what they said or comprehended. I seldom minus anybody!!!!
@Harold_ks (1673)
5 Jul 10
Wow, that was really a great achievement and only few can experience it. Getting the blue or highest star plus the BR at the same time, that was really amazing! I'm sure that day was really a very special one for you. Just keep up the good work and I'm hoping that your rating will keep on rising. Yah, having able to use emoticons is really one great achievement as well. Thank you for your response and have a great day!

I really didn't know what the star was for and I just ignored it. Then I read something about how you get the number in the star and the color to change. It still doesn't really mean anything to me. I like using the smiley faces and I am past 500 so I should be able to cut and paste, but it never works!
@Harold_ks (1673)
6 Jul 10
Well, yah it depends on the person what are the things that matters to him/her. But you have a high rating star, that's good to see. Smileys are really great and fun to use, but it's still a miles away from me now. Oh, you supposedly able to use cut/copy and paste now, maybe you should report it to admin moderators. I hope your concern will be given a solution. Thank you for your response and have a nice day!

I don't really like the reputation thing. Like I suppose its ok because it helps add to earnings however, Its not really fair to people who don't speak english well or are struggling to earn as they usually get lower ratings. I think people are just mean like that, no patience. I really like my emoticons though I can't wait until I get to copy and paste though, things like links to sites (non referral of course) would be so much easier to insert instead of typing them all in I suppose that's a good thing though to prevent spam. They need to do that on myspace sheesh.
@Harold_ks (1673)

I just hope people will not judge us for the bad English. It will really not be fair. I hope people will judge us based on our personality and intentions. Based on your star now, I can see that you are a good person, you have a high-rated star. Good job. Well yah, the copy and paste function will really be helpful, for saving time and easier posting. Thank you for your response and have a nice day!

people do that all the time but your english isn't bad. Others just post things like, yes see can i to. sentences that are really short and don't really make sense. Not that i have a problem with them, because i understand they are learning so I let them grow. I try to respond with the best possible answer I can think of.

This is my first day on this time round with mylot, but i am a reincarnation of a much older user. I cant wait to get my star back, lol. Way back when I had a bright red 9 and thought it was fantastic, so it will be interesting to see what happens this time round. Guess i will just keep posting and see what happens.

So you are a veteran but in disguise with a newbie account. Lol! Well, for sure you are a better myLotter this time, in case you have accidentally committed mistakes before, you will be able to avoid it this time. Well, I guess it adds excitement to you. Actually you already did a great job on this first day of yours. For sure your progress will really be fast. Keep up the good work and I hope when you reach the first milestone, your star will already be blue this time. Lol! Thank you for your response and have a great day!

hahaha I must stress the reason for the new account was i changed address and computer so it seemed easier this way lol But yes it still feels good to get involved again blessings

I thought it was really cool. I went from one, to two, then I was on five which I was on for awhile and then seven. After that I quickly went from seven to eight, nine and finally after awhile I became a blue star. I don't really pay much attention to it now but back when I joined I wanted to get to the highest as quickly as possible. Now it's not as important but it is a fun little feature.
