I have an aversion towards cats, somehow. I always love dogs, big or small - especially their doggy eyes. And they often greet you at the door, wagging their tails furiously.
However, there is a group of cat lovers out there who may beg to differ. Have a shot at this and let us know your affinity.

I personally prefer dogs to cats, even though I have been chased by dogs before when I was young. Dogs are friendly and loyal whereas cats are more "practical", they would go to whoever gave them food...

cats also have a great sort of loyalty. It is in their genes that they don't fix themselves to one place. It is their nature, that they keep shifting their base. And, it appears as if they are going to whoever gives food.. but, on the contrary, .. cats too have shown enough feelings ..
they are of the best CLEAN and SHY nature. YOU cannot find even a feather, after the cat eats a bird. .. and, again, cats are the best in personal hygiene.
but, 
again, .. the next time you OR ANY OTHER PET-OWNER wants to buy some luxury item to pamper your PET .. remember, it is just an animal, and can be as natural as any other animal.. can do without that luxury.. but, there are HUMANS .... eating mud, and starving.. TRY to send some love to them too.

:d I presume the mother of the kittens stole visits, .. secretly. from what I learnt about animals, they always chose a place which could be approached from at least three different routes. So, leave the guilt. It would have anyway, shifted out the kittens within the same day, or the next! ...

I remember this incidents with cats that until now I still feel a bit upset whenever I thought about them.
We found a cat in our storeroom one day, we are not the type that keep pets, so we turned her out. 2 days later, we found a litter of kittens in the same storeroom. We had turned out their mother! We had to put this litter out too and hope that their mother can find them. I always have regrets when I think about the poor mother cat and her kittens.

it all depends on the geographical location that you were talking about. Some thought that DOG is the man's best friend .. because, these SOME were involved in hunting, cattle raising, and such other nomadic activities, .. which got considerable help from the dogs.
but, Egyptians had left us enough evidences that they took good care of cats, as their pets. .. it might be because of some para-normal belief systems and customs.

i WILL sure give a shot.. rather than have the shot.
now, .. if you observe, there are millions, without ONE square meal a day. i am NOT talking of the somalia, and such other african countries. I am talking about those poor.. who are forced to stay home, for bad-weather, or STRIKE calls by politicians, etc.
does anyone, who grow these PETS .. bother about fellow humans?

Hi consult,
what a big issue you have raised here. I have seen pets that lead a better life than human beings, they enjoy quality food, sleep in air-conditioned rooms and go to the spa every week! Elsewhere, there are people living in destituted conditions, shows you how unfair life can be. However, each and every of us can do our part to better the world, just do what we can do.

i am not against BLUE CROSS and I sincerely -- with all my heart, wish that animals also should be treated with love and care. I am also against CRUELTY ! ..
at the same time, Dear friend, bluemoon pavilion, .. you have got me right. I am trying to bring the awareness to all pet-owners .. to share a loaf of bread with those living in sub-standard human conditions.
there are people -- HUMAN BEINGS, living in sewers, there are people living eating MUD and grass-stalks.... THE next time you try to adopt a pet, REMEMBER THIS! please~

whoa, can see that you really feel strongly about this~~
I am definitely against cruelty of any form and manner. Though I am a not a pet owner myself, I respect all life forms and feel that all beings should have a shot at living a better life. For the old, poor and destituted, they could be so helpless and are at the mercy of others. Although there are many charitable organizations and people around, there could never be enough done to help.

one thing that I like about my one and only cat is that It always kills the best pest in the house: a RAT.
