Ex Oakland Raiders QB, JaMarcus Russell is in trouble again, after being arrested for possesing codeine without a prescription. The former #1 pick is currently without a team, and his arrest makes it unlikely a team will sign him now. If he does find a team, I'm sure some sort of discipline will be coming from Commissioner Goddell. The 24 year old still has an opportunity to turn his life around. He'll likely do that without the NFL. A player that hasn't shown a strong work ethic today, will need to work hard to get back into the NFL. It's sad when someone has the talent, is given the opportunity, and then waste them both. Hopefully Russell will find help and guidance, and get his life together whether that involves football or not.

The guy is an idiot. He is the poster boy for staying in school, and why teams need to have every draft pick put through a physic evaluation. He is going to make the future draft picks life much worse because he was such a screw up. Hopefully, he will get out of football, and find something else to do with his life.

Hopefully, he will find something else he can do. He hasn't shown much initiative to do anything with his opportunity in the NFL. Hopefully he's saved some of his money.

He has a lot of money, but I am sure that will be gone in a year or two. He was the first million dollar baby complete bust of the guarantee money generation in the NFL. And, I am sure that NFL owners will change that come the next CBA

My father always said, there are more horses' a$$es than there are horses. It certainly appears as though the nfl is full of them.

There is no way another NFL team is going to take a chance on this guy now. Not only does he have off the field trouble, but he has never had a work ethic to go along with his (small amount of) talent. You see players getting second chances all the time in the NFL, but the difference is they at least have the work ethic to be the best they can be. You simply can't teach something like that. Al Davis also deserves a fair amount of blame for the enormous deal he gave JaMarcus. He basically set the entire Raiders organization back 10 years with that debacle of a contract.
