Best page view earnings ever

Yesterday, I wrote an article to an empty title on how Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) affects weight loss. I expected it to earn the usual few cents a day that most of my diet and fitness articles earn, but when I logged on to Helium this evening, after a busy day, I was surprised and delighted to find the article had earned $1. I've never earned so much on page views for a single article in just over 24 hours. I can't work out why this article is so popular - I mean, it's not about a miracle new diet or anything. Perhaps people are really keen to learn about BMR. What do you think? And has one of your Helium articles surprised you by how much - or how little - it earned in page views?

Well good for you - congratulations! I guess everybody wants to get back to their bikini weight and needs help figuring out why they're having trouble doing it!

Hello, Dawn. You could be right. Perhaps people are a bit concerned about fad diets that make wild promises, and would rather get back to basics. I don't know, but I'm glad the article is earning so well already.

Congrats on that! I don't think I have ever even come close to that. And just when I was feeling happy with my obscure article on the Uffizi Gallery in Florence! I wish I were interested in popular topics, like diet and exercise and money and parenting. My best article continues to surprise me. It's about working for a control freak boss. Guess a lot of people must have that experience. Anyway, well done, and keep up the good work! How many articles do you have up there now?

Hello, Art. I have about 620 articles up there now. I am interested in health and fitness, having lost about 30lbs in weight in the last year. I prefer to write about what interests me, of course, but if you want to earn on empties and page views, you have to write about things other people shy away from and popular stuff. I wrote some fishing articles, which performed really well in page views and are around the top in a competition that's just finished. I don't fish myself, but my husband does, so he's a handy verification source. Trensue, you're the queen of the weird and wonderful, so it's quite a relief to know you're not passionate about elk salami and baked squirrels - not forgetting the goats, of course. Perhaps you should change your user name to Mrs Noah?

620 articles? Sandra, how long did it take you to reach that number?

Hello, Canellita. I've been writing for Helium for almost 3 years now, but I've been most productive since February. I've put up about 350 articles in the last 5 months or so, averaging about 2 - 3 a day.

BMR is a popular topic. Many people do not know about it though everyone talks about maintaining BMI. That is the reason why lot of people flock to read this topic. Good earnings and when this happens you are inspired to write more. Isn't it?

Hello, Nishdan. Yes, I'm beginning to realise that BMR is popular. I think the reason not many people write about it is because it needs afair bit of research, as it's quite a complicated subject. As I'm interested in how the body works anyway, I enjoyed doing the research. And yes, it does encourage you when you have good earnings.

That is such a good news. First of all, I think the niche of your article has a high demand. Secondly, I'm sure the quality of your writing is just superb. Keep up the good work Sandra. :)

Hello ip5217. Thanks for the kind words about my writing. I think you're right that articles about weight loss attract a lot of traffic. I think the article must have been featured on another website to earn so much so quickly, though.

My article that I wrote on Free Ways to Make Money online, earned me over a dollar in a day. I am surprised. that an my review of RightStuf.com is doing well too. I just didnt' think when I wrote Free Ways to Make Money Online that it would get so much traffic, and a MyLot referral out of it too!

Hello, ReViewMeMedia, nice to meet you, and well done with that. Just shows that if you write what people want to read, you can earn well from it. I'm often surprised at what earns the money, although I am getting a pretty good idea now. I've just written a series of articles about health benefits of various foods, and every one is earning well. I also got empty title bonuses and upfront payments for nearly all of them, so it was a very profitable exercise, but most importantly, I enjoyed the research and writing as well.

Congrats for earning a dollar in 24 hours. I think this is because people are more health conscious these days. I haven't written for Helium as they don't accept writers from India.

Hello, Anuramn. Yes, I think you're right. People are moving away from fad diets and back to the basics of good nutrition and exercise. The article is still earning well, though it's slowed down now. I think it must have been featured on another website to earn so much so quickly.
