Did you take advantage of today?

Today, I started a new job. It's a three week enrichment program for the summer. I'm an aide to the teacher. Then, I visited my boyfriend, devoured some food and came home. Now, I'm relaxing and hanging out on the internet. What did your day consist of? Are you pleased with what you accomplished? Have you used the time you were given today to do things you wanted and needed to do? Have you taken advantage of today, or did you just let it slip by you without doing anything worthwhile?

Well, after cleaning out this small fridge that was given to us, my husband and I moved it inside so I can transfer our food to it..Seems our other fridge and/or freezer is not working and then tonight and tomorrow I will be cooking up the meat that defrosted on my today..:( So you got a teacher's aide job? You are fortunate, I been trying for years and even took a para-professional test to improve my chance.. Well congrats on your new job, I hope you have fun..:)

That's still better than what I have, and a start..So are you looking into a career in education?

That stinks about your freezer! You're lucky you have another one to use. Well, the job is for a summer enrichment program. It's not really a full time aide job. I just set up, clean up and help them with their projects. The teacher does most of the work. I get paid minimum wage because I'm still in college.

My days do tend to slip by. I have a mood disorder which makes it difficult for me to sleep most of the time. I take medication for it but still sleep hard and long. I get up slowly and usually get online. Not much energy to do anything. Please, I am not looking for sadness or oh! you poor thing. My life is just the way it is.

I agree. Life is how it is. We each lead different a different life. We all do different things, enjoy different activities, love different people, etc.

Today I was up early did Yoga, had breakfast, and took the truck to a Bee Yard where I found the bees hanging out on the fronts of the hives. We are having a heat wave, with the temperature 30 C.+ and the bees are hot. I added another honey box above the first ( most of which are filled with honey)to help cool the hive. After lunch I went with the Weed Inspector to check on an outbreak of weeds growing along the roadside, which I thought might be the Noxious, and Invasive, Giant Hog Weed. She said, "Its not Hog Weed, but I don't know the name of this plant!" We thought it might be Wild Parsnip which is also a noxious weed, but not quite as dangerous as giant Hog Weed. I took the afternoon off because it was just too hot to work outside.

We're having a heat wave here too. It's so annoying! It's so hard to do anything outside and since it's summer, everybody wants to be outside! That's awesome that you tend to bees. I'm afraid of bees. Well, not bees exactly, but wasps. I run away when I see one. I know it's not a good idea, but I can't help it!

I let it slip by me without doing anything worthwhile. Actually, it got so hot today (107 with heat index of 112) that I couldn't go outside, at least not more than a few minutes, which is where you usually find me and, because I had to slip out for a few minutes to water my garden, I got a tremendous headache from the heat. So, I took a cue from my dogs and cat and took a nap and rested before and after that. I've been here in myLot more than I've been for awhile now because I simply didn't feel like doing anything else. I've been super-busy for the past two months or so and decided that today would be a great day to take it easy and do as little as possible. I've enjoyed my time here so I'm kinda glad it got so hot today... kinda. Normally, I'm busy all day, every day and have been coming here when I needed to rest. This has been quite a nice change of pace. It certainly sounds like you had a great day. How do you like your new job? What do you do?

It's been over 100 degrees over here as well. I hate hot weather, especially since the elementary school I work is doesn't have many air conditioned rooms. Luckily, the class I'm in is in the library, so we have air conditioning. The air conditioning isn't too great though, but it's something. That's good that the weather gave you your needed break. The flowers can wait, hopefully. I work as a teacher's aide. I do simple tasks to help the teacher. I basically set up and clean up and help the kids with their projects. Today, they were recording their scripts for the movie they will be making. The teacher does most of the work. My salary is by the hour and minimum wage, since I'm still a college student.

I did what I usually do. First I worked at my first job at the stable taking care of the horses. Then I went and worked at the college I am employed at. I have been getting on the internet when I can at work. I will have to do that until my home computer problems are taken care of. In half an hour I will head home take a shower, watch tv and just relax! I didn't let my day slip away!

I'm glad you don't let your day slip away! I'm glad you relaxed at the end of your day though, because everyone needs a break sometime. You can't work all the time. I wouldn't go on the internet at my work because I'd be afraid to lose my job. But then again, there really are no computers are my job.

Hey, Congrats on the new job to you :) Hope it all goes well for you :) I had a couple of customers today, one in the morning, finished that one nice and easy then came home and relaxed for a while, then had another customer in the evening which was fairly straight forward, stressed me a little as it was pretty warm there! And from then until now, read a bit of my book, made a couple of bucks on the poker tables :) How boring it must of been for you to read that :/ Lee.

That wasn't that boring of a day! I've heard worse! That's good that you made some money from poker! I don't know how to play poker. Seems like you had a pretty nice day. You did your work and were able to relax.

I worked today....then I came home and the guy was still here building my new steps so I had to check on them a couple of times until he finished....after he left I took a big nap...and now I am playing on the computer for just a bit before I go into my craft room and finish a Birthday card and start packing my stuff up to go to my friends house in Wisconsin for five days....I don't think what I did was worthless...but it wasn't what I would normally do....

Today, I planned on staying in bed all day and watching Last Comic Standing and The X-Files. After my first episode of The X-files, I got out of bed to eat breakfast and saw my grandfather doing some housework in the backyard. So I went down and helped him out. He taught me how to garden and paint (we had to repaint the shed). At first I can't believe I am away from the TV but after awhile it got really fun. I consider this a productive day.

Hi Steph, Hope you enjoy your placement. I was called home from work today after being there only two hours from my sons school saying he was poorly so whilst he was sleeping Icaught up on some paperwork and washed the kitchen floor but otherthan that just snuggled with him really as all they want is mum at these times. I am off today with him too so know that I won't be able to get too much done, he is much brightertoday though. Huggles. Ellie :D

My days are very predictable. I get up, go through my email then start writing articles. I do that (with a lunch break) till 5PM then I quit and give my dogs their dinner and make mine. After that it's reading or television. Predictable. Can't go anywhere that costs money--heck, with gas going up I can't even take a scenic drive! I look forward to seeing my dad every couple weeks, that's as exciting as it gets. So no, I'm not making the most of my life but I'm trying to put as much money as possible aside so I'm not a burden in my old age. With any luck I won't make it to old age--I'd much rather live another 9 years to 65 and move on, leaving my sons a little bit of money.

Yes!!! I don't want to waste a single day. Here aren't here for life time or the hands of the clocks are waiting for us. All are nonstop moving!! Thats the principle of life!!!!!! I always work hard!!! And meanwhile play tennis when I am tired or something else!!

hi stephanieAnne oh yes I did two things today I had to do, one was remind our nurse to make an appointment for me with an ophthalmologist and the other was to try to help my roomie who seems to be on the verge of either senility or Alzheimer disease. she had completely forgotten that we all had our own cubby holes for mail and could ask for our mail at the front desk. she asked me to show her where it was and so I did and p;pointed out to her our own cubbyhole. the nurse here told me not to worry about her as they all knew she was changing but being her roomie I do care about her.She has up til two weeks ago seemed as sharp as I am and I am three y ears older than she at 80 so don't know what is going wrong with her but feel so sorry for her,

Good for you on your new job, what the day is like to me? i guess I could only say it's another normal day,the work enviroment is so complicated that I just feel so blue and exhausted. the leaders are fighting secretly for a higher position.they also want to trap me in.I guess I am just unlucky, men are so comlicated and ambitious and also so mean here.

Yes I'm quite happy with what I have achieved today and yesterday. I'm pretty happy in the month of June yesterday, because I get results quite a lot of online business that I follow. Well I got an income of $ 153 in the month of June yesterday and I was very grateful. But that makes me sad is I was sick for a week more to make my body limp and I can not open mylot, but today I was healed and I began again my activities in mylot.
