CSI Vegas better without Gil Grissom?

Out of the 3 CSI shows that we have right now, I'd say I'm more a Vegas fan. Nothing beats the original for me. I followed all seasons to the current Season 10. I felt sad when Gil Grissom's character was removed from the show. For me, his character has made the show unique and good. He was an unassuming character, very simple and funny at times. He was very smart and loyal. I have nothing against Laurence Fishbourne's character because he's also good but I just think removing Gil Grissom from the show was not a good move. I still watch the show because I'm a loyal CSI Vegas fan =)

I am a vagas fan too. I feel the show is just as good with Ray as it was with Gil but in a different kind of way. I do miss Grissom alot, but I don't feel that the show is lacking anything without him there. Perhaps if any of the other characters left the show would go downhill but for right now it is just as good. I do miss Warrick as well. It was sad the way he went. At least with Grissom there is a hope he might make a guest appearance.

I miss Warrick's character too. It was really sad to watch that episode when he was shot.

I too miss Warwicks character, it was a shame they had to end his time the way they did. But it was probably because he did not want a way back in unfortunately. I am even more upset and distraught over Gill Grissom leaving. I do watch still occasionaly, but it doesn't have the same flare to it for me. No disrespect to the remaining cast.

This was my favorite show until Gil Grissom left. I watched a few episodes afterwards, and it just wasn't the same. I thought that the last few episodes with Grissom were amazing. I tried to keep up with the show after he left but I just couldn't. I agree that it was not a smart move for him to leave the show. Now the ratings have went down and people don't watch the show as much as they used to. I never watch the show anymore unless it is an old episode with gil grissom. I believe that he was the main character and he made the show. Without him, CSI is totally different. I have nothing against Laurence Fishbourne's character either but he is no Grissom. No one will ever replace Grissom! Bring Grissom back!

I agree bring Grissom back! :) I haven't watched CSI in a long time now. I miss the show but there's something missing.

I don't think the show is better or worse without Gil Grissom's character. It's just different. The actor who plays Grissom is still the producer of the show. He wanted to leave to go do some theatre. He will most certainly making appearances on the show. Look how many times Sara has returned. I don't think one character makes a show. In a lot of cases it is all in the writing. Law & Order has been on for a lot of years overcoming many cast changes throughout the years. Now the show is coming to an end and I wonder whether fans got tired of all the cast changes. Law & Order: Criminal Intent replaced their whole cast all in one shot and I think that killed the show. I loved Eames and Goren and won't go out of my way to watch it like I used to. That show is probably on its way out now (no offense to Jeff Goldblum because he is good).

You have a point there :) But for 9 season Gil was a central part of the show. I guess it'll take time getting used to.

Though I can't watch this on TV anymore (no cable ARGH!) I love watching CSI (from the DVD). I too was a bit saddened when I saw the episode that Grissom left the show. Although Laurence Fishbourne's character is entirely different and the loss of Grissom's character is a very big shoe to fill in and a very big challenge. Though I believe, Fishbourne is a skilled actor and up to the challenge.

I really admire Gil as the leader of CSI group. Not just because his learned image and logic mind, but I think he represent the ideal boss whom can hardly be found in real life.He is like a father rather than an officer.Think about the scene when Warrick was shot...I am really moved to tears. We can also see he is always try his best to protect his man from being maligned by the bad guys and provide them with chances to show their gifts. If I have the chance,I would like to be one of his guys.

I agree with you. I remember that scene too. I was crying when watching that. I miss both characters.

Grissom is one of the reasons why I liked CSI, but not the ultimate reason. Yes, I miss his character, his attitude, his meltdowns over Sara, his concern for his team (Warrick and Nick), his meetings with the lovely Lady Heather and his 'clashes' with Conrad. However, Dr. Ray as the newbie CSI provided new insights (being a doctor) and shows that he has the passion for the work as well. Although no one can replace the Bug-Man, things have to go and move on and always for the better.

I certainly miss Gil Grissom's character. I do like Laurence Fishbourne's character as well but no one can replace Gil Grissom. I realize he is still the Exe. Producer and that is great. I am glad that he can come back from time to time to make appearances. I also miss Warrick Brown's character. I was really shocked when he left the show. I never really cared for the character of Sara (Jorge Fox). There are a few other characters that don't shine as much as the original casting did together. I am always a CSI Vegas fan though!

I'm a Miami fan myself, although I'll watch any of them if I happen to have the TV on. I imagine that Vegas will be different without Grissom, probably taking a slightly different direction. Hopefully that will make it more interesting, and give it something extra.

I don't really watch CSI Vegas anymore because I liked Grissom a lot. It's just not as interesting without him in it.

I'm also an absolute Vegas fan, even though lately I haven't been able to keep up with the series, being too busy. I was, anyway, an enthusiastic Sara-Grissom fan and seeing one of them go already broke my heart. And I totally agree in that Grissom was the character that made the whole series interesting... such a pity he's gone too. Good job with keeping up watching the show! O.O
