Do you borrow school supplies from your classmates?

As a student, one must be responsible enough in bringing his/her own school supplies. I have tried giving away papers when I was a student. I hate it but I don't want to be selfish. I understand if my classmates only forgot to bring their things but sometimes, they rely on others and I see that they are already abusing. The teachers even call these people "parasites" because they hate bringing their things and just borrow or ask from others. Did you ever encounter these people too?

I usually dont borrow school supplies from my classmates. The main reason for that is that I dont want them borrowing my stuff cause they usually dont know how to take care of it. I dont let them borrow my stuff so that they wont have any reason to borrow mine. There's no way for them to ask me something when in the first place, I never asked any favor from them.

you're right. sometimes, they break the stuffs they borrowed and they just say sorry. I hate it. I hope all people would realize that they don't have the right to borrow from someone who never asked favor from them. lol.

Well it pays off when you in turn forgot your school supplies. Yes some people tend to be abusing and I really hate them. We are just normal students and they were also given allowances by their parents so why ask others for papers, ball pens and other materials. I have one schoolmate who had always been the host for papers. One time She brought one new pad of paper and when the quizzes come almost all of the students ask for papers from her. They new pad was cut in half and I felt too bad for her.

She must be too generous. If I'm her parent, I will not give her money to buy a new pad paper. lol. Well, I hate to say but those generous people tend to be abused in the long run. I wish she had learned her lesson...

Every once in awhile, my classmates would ask to borrow a pen or a piece of paper but I've never met a person that constantly borrow school supplies. I sometimes forget to bring my pen or pencil sometimes too and need to ask a classmate to borrow one so I would do the classmate the same favor if they ask (as long as they don't ask everyday). In the beginning of every class, the instructor always remind us to bring school supplies and students should know it is necessary to do so but I hope my classmates would forgive me for being forgetful sometimes

Hi reco13! When I was a student, our teachers often check if we did brought our school supplies with us, anything which we forgot to bring has an equivalent punishment. It's just this one time, I forgot to bring two tubes of water color for our art class, I was afraid so I ran to the other room to borrow it from the other class. ahahaha.. I avoided the punishment. But, at school we were taught to bring all our materials needed, if we forget or if we don't, we will suffer the consequences. Happy mylotting!

That's nice then. I guess that's reasonable if you only accidentally forgot your things. But if you purposely leave your things because you hate bringing heavy loads to school, that's the one I hate. Students need to be responsible and I think the way your teacher disciplines those who don't bring their stuffs to school is great. Students will really be disciplined and avoid borrowing from their classmates/.

Hi Pal, At times we may not all have all what we need in life that even includes school. ever since i was in primary school, [now in college] i have been borrowing a few items in class because it is not always that one will always have what they need. I may borrow a pen today and tomorrow the person who helped me will maybe borrow me a pencil or a ruler. we have a spirit on lending in our class like this Friday my friend gave me a foolscap as all i did have got finished when i was writing notes in lectures. But there comes a time when one decides to just leave their things at home and they go around begging for things in class during class time and this are the people who even run away with the things you help them with and even loose them. All i do in class is to take note of such people and when they come back for help if they did annoy me the first time, then all i do is remind them and never give them anything if they repeat the same mistakes again. Nice Day..!

Those are the people I hate too. I really don't care if they get mad at me if I don't lend them the second time they need help if they lost my trust the first time they borrowed from me. I know you have a good heart for lending or sharing your things with your classmates but maybe you should also set limits...

As a student sometime we need to borrow stationary things.Sometime it happens that while writing suddenly ink finishes or pen broke. That time we need to borrow. It will not happen all the time and even they borrow from us.We need to return back their things after use.

yeah i know what you mean, they could really be annoying. some of them don't do it on purpose though, and i can't be selfish with them because sometimes i myself tend to forget to bring what i need to school by mistake or accident. something i never intended to do. but anyway some students are just plain abusive. they depend on other people all the time to provide them with paper and other school needs.

no.i hate borrow things from other because i really know how er feel is someone keep borrowing our stuff.so i don't practice it and always bring my own.but others always do that to me.i will feel more sad if they borrow it and forgot to give the thing back to me as im not the person who will ask for my things back as it will make the other party fell more embarrassed.

yes i borrow sometimes from my friends which can be stationary or maybe anything more but then i forget to return them. they do that sometimes to me also. so i usually have a large stock of stationary present in my home and i keep as many pens with me as i can!
