Constantine was the fantasy horror movie adapted from Vertigo's Hellblazer, shown in 2005. It starred Matrix lead Keanu Reeves as John Constantine, the Mummy's Rachel Weiss, Transformer's Shia LeBouf as Chas Kramer Constantine's sidekick, the Chronicles of Narnia's White Queen Tilda Swinton as Gabriel. Constantine is one of the best fantasy horror movies that I've watched. I haven't read the comics though but they made up for viewers like me as they included a background of John in the movie. In addition, I've always loved movies which plots are about religion like angels, devils, heaven, and hell, so I was really interested in the story. What about you guys? Have you watched Constantine? What can you say about it? For those of who haven't, I think you should because Constantine really satisfied my craving for deep supernatural stories and I highly recommend this movie for viewers who are looking for fantasy films with depth and a touch of religion. =)

Really? I wasn't able to pay attention to the songs, because I was really engrossed in the story. I'll look for it though. Thanks for recommending it =)

Exactly. I mean, the target market of the movie is not only the readers, but the first time 'discoverers' of Constantine as well. Hehe. Just want to add that to my comment above your response. =) If you read the comics and know a lot of Constantine, then you'll really find a lot of discrepancies of the movies from the comics and you'll definitely understand the whole story. The problem is, not everyone has read or even know the comics exists! I don't! That's why I really appreciate the story and how the movie was made. =)

I have to say this movie is one of the best movies I've ever seen. I only understood the movie though the second time I watched it. At first I was confused about the guy that was carrying the dagger at first. I didn't get that part the first time and why Gabriel kinda helped the son of satan be born on earth. But then when I watched it again... I totally appreciated the plot. God is totally merciful and forgives everyone for their sins.=) Rapist and murderers can still go to heaven because of God's mercy so Gabriel wanted to unleash Baal the son of Lucifer to earth. Only those who will survive the reign of Baal on earth would be the ones worthy to go to heaven... pretty cool.=)

Yeah I really liked how it turned out that Gabriel is the real enemy in the end. And her belief really justified her actions, though God punished her for putting His law in his own hands.

Yep. Love it! One more thing I liked about it was that Filipino girl who was possesed spoke in Tagalog so I really felt it. I don't remember Shia Lebouf in that story. I guess I should watch it again.

My husband is a scifi geek so I get to watch alot of those types of movies and yes I saw Constantine. Reeves is not one of my favorite actors and tends to play the same charater in every movie I have seen him in. The plot of the movie had some interesting turns in it and kept my ever wondering attention. The special effects were nice and I thought for the most part believable. But in the end it was Shiloh that made the movie. He is so cute and funny.
