When you eat a meal does it matter what light you are in? Yellow lighting or white? Does it even matter? Some people told me that lighting and the color of your surrounding can affect your eating habits but I'm not sure.

I read that kitchen or restaurant walls should be painted yellow because it increases appetite.

There are theories that certain colours (yellow being one - not surprising, look at McDonalds!) trigger your appetite, but I had not heard about the lighting. Personally, it doesn't matter to me what colours are surrounding me or what the lighting is like. However, the size of the dishes and cutlery do play a role in how much I (and most people, according to several studies) consume.
