For the most part it depends on how many people get to your articles overall and daily that they base how much they will pay you for each view. You can be a good writer.I mean all those good writers out there ; they had to go through some learning process... such as learning good English, being able to type well, spell well, and among all, being able to write about something interesting, cool, something that will make people read you!
