Eating dog

I know this is a worldwide issue. Why is eating dog very taboo when cows, pigs and, chickens get slaughtered everyday. People catch fish, shoot deer for game and more. If they can do that I don't think there is anything wrong with eating dog meat. PETA might get mad at me with this but if we butcher the dog in a humane manner would that be fair to the cows? This is a weird question. Do you think if we raise the dogs like cows and chickens it would be fair? Sorry dog lovers because there are also cow lovers, pig lovers, goat lovers, chicken lovers, and many more. But I would say that they are all just meat, even us humans are meat. We are all just meat. Sorry you guys. I'm just a very curious person. I have so much question to the world.

since you have brought this up i would like to tell a funny story. my uncle was stationed at fort hood army base back in his younger days when and he had a friend stop by. they decided to take a one day trip to mexico. they went down there and they were eating at a restaurant and his friend asked him if he wanted a bite of his food which was a meat. he ate a bite then said "what is this? this tastes terrible." his friend said "you don't know what that is? thats dog" he said the dog meat was tough when he chewed it.

I have to agree with this. Most people who eat dog meat is in third world countries where food is 'sort of' scarce.Another issue about dogs being eaten is maybe because of rabies and what they eat.

i havent tasted dog and not planning to.dogs arent supposed to be food because some of them carry bacteria.theres some people that prays on stray dogs and once they caught it,cleaned it and cook it.after that served it as food while in a drinking session.they said it puts hair on your chest.

Many people object to eating dogs because dogs have been domesticated and are seen as pets in many countries around the world, not as a meat product. In India they do not eat cows, however, I don't believe that any other culture views them as sacred so there is less objections worldwide to eating beef.

I don't have cows, pigs or chickens as my companions. Both dogs and cats have been human companions for ages. Humans just have a bond with some kinds of animals. It's either friend or food, not both.

It has been a part of the human race to raise dogs as pets or friends. It is just like being part of a family. Would you eat a part of your family? I guess the reason why people don't eat dogs is because of culture. In some parts of the worlds I guess, they eat dogs and nobody cares while in most civilized parts of the world it is illegal. It all boils down to culture and the state of mind of people in a certain region/place.

I have often wondered the same thing. It boils down to human emotions and stupid people. For example, I am a dog lover, so I wouldn't eat dog - just like I won't eat turtle soup because I am a turtle lover...but there are plenty of people who like turtle soup. The emotional part of me hates this, but my intelligence reminds me that an animal is an animal and if it is okay for me to eat a cow or pig, then it is okay for someone else to eat turtle...or dog in your example.
