the topic of illegal immigration has gotten out of hand. ya ya Ive heard the argument that we are all immigrants but we are a country that has laws for a reason. we have to stop the influx of illegals its not just Mexico its Canada too. how hard is it for a Arab terrorist to learn Spanish and disguise himself as a Mexican only coming to this country to work. people from all over come to Mexico and Canada to sneak in to the US. Also there should be no rights for illegals if you want to come here it right

Illegal Immigrants have no rights because they are not citizens of this country. Their breaking the law, therefore they are criminals and we should treat them like criminals. I feel that we need to make stronger immigration laws with acctual punishments - Not just deportation. Deporting them doesn't do anything. The come here, get sent back, and then come right back. We should build a prison system just for illegal immigrants with a min. sentence of 10 years for crossing our borders illegally.

the prison thing wont work that is not a deterrent our prison system is alot better that most of living conditions that they use to. I know I work in a jail which contracts to the FEDS to house inmates including ICE prisoners and I have talked to them before and yes most are honestly trying to fine a better life here but that dose excuse the fact that they are breaking our laws. I talked to one ICE inmate that has been to deported and came back several times our jails do not scare them lets face it free meals, health care, and education and everything is provided to them are tax payed expense don't sound to bad

I recently read an email from a well-known political analyst that gave a solution to the whole immigration problem and I believe he hit the nail on the head. This analyst said that the whole border fence idea will never work and isn't even feasible. Not to mention it will probably never even get built anyway. Also, you can't rely on the politicians, especially the Dems, because the immigrants bring more votes especially if they get amnesty passed. The best solution, and one that is very feasible, as the analyst stated, is to dry up the jobs that bring them here in the first place. That, along with enforcing the laws against businesses that hire illegals would eventually solve the problem.

I totally understand and agree w/ you. Illegal immigration need to stop! They're not paying taxes, because of them they're making taxes higher, they're taking out money, our jobs. But the getting hired by "the man" because that man will pay them less than min wage because he knows they will work for it. It's just really not fair. But who's doing something about it??

well lets see, sense my grandparents came here LEGALLY from Sicily by way of Ellis Island and both my parents were BORN HERE . my fathers parents did it right and legal, my moms side were here a from the start and my mom is also part Native American. so I guess I have covered all possibilities right? So I guess by the legal definition set out by the American Government I am LEGAL. Oh ya my step mom is a LEGAL IMMIGRANT from the Philippines so I have seen every side of this stupid argument and I still believe that if you want to come here do it right

I agree, there is nothing wrong with immigrating to another country to start a new life. But I don't like illegal immigrants because if there is a good reason for them to get into the country then they could/should get in legally.

Herro sonofmercury I appreciate the responses made by the other members. I believe that all people in the US should either have a green card or be a citizen, either naturalized or born. By born I mean born to American citizens. I think there should be a chain of citizenship, either green card or natural. If parents are illegal, child should not be legal. My belief is just like everyone else, it is mine. People will either agree or disagree. I also think that employers should check citizenship before hiring. I would be interested in a statistic of how many jobs are filled by non-citizens (illegal immigrants.) We have illegal immigrants in our prisons (paid by taxpayers). We pay the medical bills of illegal immigrants. Oh well, tis my opinion. Prosperous mylotting

In Holland you see exactly the same. However, there are no laws saying we principally reject asylum seekers. They can come here, get shelter, food and all. All very expensive. And then once in a while we have general amnesty and set all 'hopeless' ( and yes that's political correct here) free, so that they can live from social security and that all thanks to left wing parties, who also want to create special parks for Islamic inhabitants, WELL I NEVER. We're slowly turning into Holandistan. USA politics should just stop all the 'hopeless' asylum seekers from getting a green card. What's the point in that? It's not like they're enriching cultures or sth.

There's a different between immigrants and illegal immigrants! If you have a good reason for immigrating to another country then you can immigrate legally! Why getting in to a country illegally if you don't have anything to hide, if you have a good reason for getting in to the country?
