Hi everyone. Hope all of you are fine. Some persons tend to wear their respective symbols on their necks or somewhere else. I mean a cross for christians, an om for hindus, a 786 or star with a half moon and so on. So do you wear it on your neck? I have a white sacred thread on my shoulder crossing chest. As a hindu brahman guy, we are bound to wear it from teenager till death. Its ritual. So what about you? Please share. Thanks in advance.

Hi shi... I'm sure you will know by now that I don't like wearing such things, whether around my neck or anywhere else. My religion does not require me to wear anything and I don't think I need to beautify myself anywhere.

Hiya shibham, At the moment I don´t wear any given thing as it keeps breaking and it´s real gold so I have given up taking it to be repaired. I have a cross and chain that is the Caravaca cross that originated in Murcia. Not that I have a particular faith in one or the other. Before I used to wear a cross and chain that was originally designed by Salvador Dali in real silver but I lost it somewhere. If I do wear anything I hide it away just lately. Again not for any given reason more than anything so it won´t get caught up in my Hair or clothes. I prefer to wear a gemstone and a simple neck thread actually because although it means a lot to me it does not mean anything to anyone else. It´s meaning to other People could be anything apart from the gemstones properties. My favourite is Rose Quartz and Watermelon Tourmaline but they are becoming very expensive.

hi angel. miss u in mylot. honestly i am not familiar with that words that u have raised as Caravaca cross and salvador dali. anyway where u have lost it? why to hide? oh... thats the reason, it seems that u have long hair. nice. actually too much ornaments are some extra load to carry for a woman. i think so. have a nice day.

yeah angel, most often peoples do believe in some metallic ornaments and some of them tend to wear it in a ring shape. may be there are some effects towards day to day life but for me, i have no faith on them. where believes rise everything are meaningful. ( don't misunderstood ) now, i am well informed about those terms. thanks for informations. have a nice day.

Hiya shibham, Below is the meaning of the Cruz of Caravaca just a snippet of information I found it´s also about the Town itself so the information about the Cross itself is further down the page but you can see for yourself what the cross means more or less. I don´t ear it because the chain breaks easily and I am allergic to false gold chains too so no reason more than that for not wearing it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caravaca_de_la_Cruz Also Rose Quartz is a stone I like to have around as it means compassive and universal love unconditional love from the heart centre. I don´t wear it on my neck either I carry it a velvet bag sometimes not always though. Here is a link of what Rose Quartz is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quartz I can´t find a photo of Salvador Dalis cross and chain design not even in wikipedia but if I find a photo of it I will try to put it on here. Actually and finally Rose Quartz has become very meaningful for me and that´s why I have it around. Hope it´s cleared up your doubts there.

I am not a part of an organized religious group but I do have faith. I have a cross but I don't wear it always and I don't have any particular ritual where this is concerned. I respect rituals and their significance to the ones that practice them. If you don't mind my curiousity,at what age are you required to wear your white sacred thread and what does it mean?

hi abj. thanks that u have liked this topic. well, i know the rituals of marathi community. as i have a friend from maharastra. actually i also dont believe god as i am atheist. as u i am wearing it only for the satisfaction of my parents. as u know that we have to change it in regular interval but i often forget it and my parents scold me for my unconsciousness. @annavi. don't mind. as abj, i am also an atheist and i too dont believe god. its not necessary to think that god creates all of us. if u research through science, then u will find some different aspects. have a great day always.

@ annavi if god really exists then why dont he stops all natural and man made disasters ....if he created this nature then he must be having control on nature.....then why tsunami killed 3 lack people all over the world....means he did that indirectly....or he didn't stopped doing that........you may think now that one of my relative mst be got killed in a blast or tsunami....but nothing like that.....simple thing is i dont believ god because i haven't seen proof of his existance......i haven't gone through any magical power.....i have just seen god in pictures in temples and at my home....the old people who were unknown of science they used to believe it because they were unknown about science....i am not saying that god doesn't exists may be he exists but i dont believ that because whatever i am is just because of mine....means i passsed a n exam just because of mine not due to pray to god.....i am sorry to use these words but i dont believe god and i will never........ happy mylotting

I have a pewter pentagram that I always wear. it's not compulsory, but I like to wear it. and also it's made in the county where I now live, and my mum bought it for me when we first moved down here. and I love living in this part of the country, and shortly after moving here I also met my husband, so I feel that in many ways, coming here was my fate. sometimes I also wear a hagstone on a cord for protection.

well most of last year I was wedding planning. all done and dusted now :) I wouldn't class it entirely as superstition. to me superstition is things like worrying that a broken mirror brings bad luck, saluting magpies or avoiding walking under ladders, and I don't concern myself with those sort of things. but I do beleive that some objects do have certain energies associated with them, and I really like Hagstones. they have many Magical uses, and most of them involve protecting things, people and places.

I have a medical condition known as sleep apnes. I won't get into the details, but it is something I that is easily treatable. Most people with a medical condition wear a medical alert bracelet on their wrist. Perhaps you have seen this. That would be dangerous for me to have at my job, because of the chance that it would get caught in machinery. I purchased the necklace instead. It is just for information only, in case that I am found unconcious or in some sort of emergency that I am unable to answer questions.

Hi shibham, No, no such thing as necklace or some sacred threads to protect me from evils are attached to my body. If I could unclothe myself you would see not a single foreign thing in my body. I even do not wear my marriage ring. Wrist watch too an occasional show. Else i manage the time thing with my cell phone itself. Actually I never felt that I should wear any such thing. Even my parents never insisted me for such thing. I have nothing to scream if somebody is with few of them. This is personal choice and belief, be it ritual or a trend/fashion.

I do not have a necklace on showing my religion off. I never even thought of it, but yes, now that I think of it, a lot of people probably do. I am not that religious at all, although maybe spiritual, but I don't really believe in God, so that's probably why I don't wear any of that.

Hi, I never thought about it as a symbol before but thinking about your question made me see it in a different light :) I am welsh and one of the kind of symbols of our culture is a love spoon, years ago men used to spend hours carving intricate love spoons from wood to present to the girl they would marry. When we were first together, my husband bought me a beautiful love spoon pendant in welsh gold, and I have worn it pretty much every day for the past 20+ years.
